Dante,

Although your ODU bet at that price is a GREAT VALUE, why not add some simple insurance by taking Ga Tech at 25-1 just in case ODU falters in the FINALS? :drink:

P.S.

Congrats on your PITT team who I believe has an excellent chance to WIN their first round game...

Not wise IMO

In the SAME bracket, one can get 27-1 on the #1 seed WASHINGTON HUSKIES.

THE SHRINK

With the experience they bring from last year and a strong performance in the Conf. Tourney I think they have a shot.....albeit, a small one.

I have them losing to Illinois in the Final Four.

OK - I'm ready for the bashing...bring it on...LOL

This looks like a downright terrible value to me. Not that they can't win, but that the fair value of them parlaying 6 wins together would be more like somewhere between 70-1 and 100-1. If you really like Ga Tech's chances, better to just start with taking them around -220 ML in Round 1 and going from there.

Betting directly on a tourney future is much more than just liking the team's chances to win the future. It has to be all about the odds. I guess this is why ODU 9-1 or 10-1 or 11-1 or whatever to make the Sweet 16 is such a very poor wager. At +425 over MSU and then probably like +500 or more vs. Cuse, fair value on the prop is more like 30-1.

Please note, you are talking about a team that defeated NORHTERN IOWA by a bucket last year in the 1st round.

Really, how much better is GT than Northern Iowa this year?

Not much in all reality considering UNI has the entire base of last years team back this year.

Meanwhile, hoards of people are talking crap about UNI being in the Big Dance.

Probably better off betting UNI at huge high odds rather than taking GT at a mere 25-1.

Now that's just silly talk. Last year's single game notwithstanding, GTech has a chance to win the tourney, Northern Iowa....well, they do not. If you're betting to hedge, UNI might have more value at say 1000-1 or more, but that isn't saying a whole lot.

D2bets,

As far as getting fair value in FUTURES bets, one rarely, if EVER, gets anywhere close to it as the bookmakers bleed u to death with extra VIGORISH than the customary amounts...

But to have some fun for the average gambler, that's who I was targeting...

With that said, one can get Ga Tech at plus 600 to WIN their REGION, which in my opinion is the most wide open...

Ga Tech is as good as anyone in that bracket...and playing as well as anyone, not too mention they are tourney tough!

Hard to argue, you are correct.

I really like this GT team from what I seen of them a few times.

Ken, since I'm a fan of yours I'm going to give you a GREAT TIP right here...

Check out Pinnacle's futures...

Odds to win SOUTH REGION...

Field +25000...

That Field includes the one and only OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY (as well as the 13 through 16 seeds in that Regional).

Have fun! :toast:
