Have a huge family........four sisters, one brother, 13 nephews and nieces, 7 grand nephews and nieces.

Basically ALL my siblings and ALL my nephews and nieces except a couple gamble regularly.

Get this even, my GRAND NEPHEW of 9 years old won a $3,000 Bracket contest last year involving all of his dads co-workers! This is something that he did not learn from his GRAND UNCLE FISHHEAD, as I have NOT won a bracket contest in my entire life. Approximently 0-89 in NCAA CBB bracket contests lifetime. :)

My sisters and brothers are all regular casino goers, my nephews all play cards and wager on sports...........in fact together we all have sort of mini-FISHHEAD syndicate sportsbetting wise.

Feel free to share your family exploits here if you care to.

My Father God Bless him and Rest in Peace

Had the action bug.........and genetically SO DO I

He would tell me stories about when he was in WWII in the Pacific on an Aircraft Carrier as a Navy Shipmen, he would bet all his liberty money playing craps on the deck of the ship. And then borrow it all back so he could go drinking that weekend. And then when he would win, he would do the same back for everyone else. Man I remember him telling me that story like it was yesterday, and I would think that was as great as it could be!!!!

And then He had Redskin season tickets and we went to many games......and betting those 5 dollar cards as a kid was ACTION CENTRAL for a 12 year old

And then COLLEGE........do I need to go any further

:lolBIG: :lolBIG:

still waiting for the mother load

Jarbo and any other posters--

A plug for my niece.

If you ever in IOWA CITY, stop in and say hello to my niece who owns a bar in the downtown area. Tell her STRUT/FISHHEAD sent you and the first drink is on me.

Here is a link to her bar website........

Being well educated(in terms of level of education completed) in my opinion has very little to do with being a successful or unsuccessful gambler.

Anthony- Why are you a loser?

That should not be the case partner.

"Anthony- Why are you a loser?"

Just a figure of speech Fish. I am the only one that gambles in my family. The only one that smokes pot, cigarettes ect ect. People call that being a loser. I call it having fun.

But Fish 80% of wealthy people do not gamble every day or every other day. They may go to Vegas once or twice a year and gamble. But thats just for fun.

ABOUT 100% do in the stock market or real estate every day. That's what makes you wealthy stocks and real estate.

Very true, but it also seems to me that many rich people took a HUGE gamble or risk at some point that paid off, especially business owners. It's in their blood and nature in one way shape or form. I've personally seen plenty of them lose a lifetime of work in months, sad. But the rich who hold on to their money paly it safe even in stocks and real estate for the most part.

....

I am the only gambler. It's funny though. I guess gambling is my 1 "high" in life. Never messed with drugs, barely drink (once every few months), hell never even smoked cigarettes.

I agree with Fishhead that one's level of education has very little to do with whether one gambles and whether one is successful doing so. FWIW I have both those advanced degrees.

Although I don't think a high level of education will necessarily make one a better bettor, I do think good math skills would tend to make you more likely to be a better bettor (not everyone of course, but given a sizable random sampling with math skills as the only variable).
