(Just a heads up and warning to any newbees to Ebay)

Well, there's a 1st time for everthing. I got screwed on Ebay for the first time ever guys for appromimately $95.I know it's normal to most experienced Ebay users, but PLEASE make sure you always take the time to check the sellers feeback score. Even though this Son of a gun's feedback wasn't "that" bad, he had not sold that many items and had already had some negative feeback. What ticks me off is that the amount of money Ebay/Paypal make off of members, they should have some sort of insurance policy that will reimburse people in instances such as this. Heck, I have a 100% rating. If I wanted, I could now easily put an item up for sell worth a few thousand and screw somebody over and get away with it.........:movingeye

The world of wagering isn't the only place where scammers exist!

file a complaint w/ebay. That happened to me once. Ebay does an "investigation" and takes whatever action necessary. In my case, they pulled the money from the seller's Paypal acct and reimbursed me.

Funny this is, THEN the dumbazz sends me the item.

yeap been on the same boat before but for something much less than that. the thing that really sucks about Ebay is that they don't have a live customer service system.. everything is done through email which can takes days maybe even weeks. and they dont really take any responsibility for scammers on the site, everything is pretty much done on a p2p basis, so its all in the risk of the buyer. sorry to hear about your plight. Ebay really needs to start taking stronger measures to ward off scammers.

File Complaint with Paypal

Also in your My Ebay section there is a place next to items won that say Item not received. Not sure what it does but know it is there I am going to be gone tonight but if you want I will send you a link where you can find it if you don't see it. Leave a note here if you need help.

Already did that Master B. The problem is that 2 DAYS AFTER I purchased the item, I viewed the item again to just check it out, and saw that "This Member Isn't Registered With Ebay Any Longer". Found out he was just suspended for the same thing......screwing over others.......:neenee: So I was basically just out of luck.....

strange pb&j.

The guy i bought from may have admitted to not sending the item when ebay inquired, thus an easy decision for them. That was my only problem in 5 years.

Funny this topic comes up though, I bought 2 old school nes game lots(from 2 diff sellers). Its been 3 weeks and no communication from them. I've been meaning to send them an email, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Hopefully I don't get screwed. Some fricken people need a good kick in the ass.

damn, sorry to hear that Hache.

Thanks Master B,You live & learn I suppose.Good thing it was only $95 instead of much more.......
Never really thought about it until now, but it's such a ridiculous system. As I mentioned above, I have a 100% rating. All one has to do is sell small items and build their feedback score up and keep their rating at or near 100%, and then.............BOOM! They could hit some unlucky person hard for a substantial amount of money.Total flaw in the system in my opinion that needs to be worked out. Seems as long as Ebay/Paypal are getting rich(more) they don't mind a few members getting taken in the process......

Hache - if you paid with Paypal, they might be able to help you. I have been screwed on 2 occasions. I figure with my feedback of 400+ (100%), that is 99.5% of transactions good. Really sucks that it is for $95.

But Fair, Paypal wont do anything if that person has already pulled all of their funds out will they?......

LOL......yeah.......but I've spoken with him via email. Seems like it's a kid, not sure though. I've never checked, but is there an age limit at Ebay?

you need a credit card to sell, so 18, maybe? What state is he from? Maybe someone could talk to him in person for you!

Unbelievable coincidence...........

I haven't heard from this guy in a while since the last time I emailed asking him if he had any intentions on sending this ite. I just checked the Email I use for Ebay and there was a response!! Here it is in reply to my question on if he planned on sending the item.........

"yes sir im trying so hard to get back on ebay it would be stupid to
waste my
time trying to get back on if i wasnt sending everyone there cards."

Does that not sound like some kid to you guys?:icon_conf

Neither of them can really help. I bought a jersey that was supposed to be one size, turned out about three sizes bigger than advertised. The guy refused to take it back and since he did send "something", Ebay said just give him negative feedback. Guess the guy screwed over a bunch of people at once because then his feedback went private. Then the real nail in the coffin is about 5 days after it I get an email from Ebay saying in so many words that the stuff the guy is selling is fake and they were alerted to it by the copyright holder. They ended it with "we encourage you not to complete this transaction". Gee you think you could have told me all this within a day or two of my deal being complete?

It happens, I just moved on from it. The seller had pretty good feedback up to that point, who knows why he went bad. Maybe he bought a bunch of small deals to build up a decent rating and then used it to screw over a lot of people at once.

I could swear that Ebay has some kind of insurance for anything over $75 (not that it does Hache a whole lot of good, since they'd only reimburse him $20).
