I never worked in fast food thankfully...but I did work for a chimney sweep guy for a week one summer (1987)...100 degree heat and the humidty and this man is bitching about finding his tools for him...this guy was nuts, he was from somewhere up north and he was a total prick to work for, I couldn't stand that job....I think i was paid 7 dollars an hour , which wasn't that bad actually (for being 19), but the job sucked!

What was your worst job?

honorable mention ;

Paper Boy (USA Today middle of the night hours)
Pill Capper (all i did was put caps on pill bottles lol)

When I was about 17 worked part time for a small meat market. Actually go good at it. The guy served lunch there and was famous for his "Buy one cheesburger, get one cheesburger free" deal. It was just packed with customers every day before and after 12:00 PM every day. The burgers were HUGE, and people thought it was the best bargain EVER! However, I am the one who actually made the meat for the patties. It merely consisted of all the fat trimmings from the meats. One giant barrel was nothing but fat trimmings, and we threw in one small pack of ground beef to add color to it, even though you couldn't tell the difference once it was fried and on the sandwich anyhow. Just keep in mind guys in the future that I'm sure we aren't the only ones who has done or does such a thing...........LOL

I cleaned the meat room of a supermarket. Had to wash all the little bits of meat off the saws and stuff; was pretty disgusting and smelly.

Dante, I knew a guy that did that also for a living, (through card collecting of all things!) and he was actually hospitialized for about 3 weeks because the chemical had somehow gotten internal(breathing it I believe) and the krap was actually going from the inside out instead of soaking in his skin and going in like one would think!!:monsters-

Ive had the worst job TRUST ME!!

When I was 20 I worked in Palm Springs in the summer as a sewage exterminator. We would drive down streets, stop and open up the man holes, watch usually about 1 or 2 thousand cockroaches either run at your feet to crawl up your leg or go back down the sewer. Then we would spray poisoned based paint around the sewer all while inhaling the smell of sh*t and piss in 107 degree heat of the desert, I could have worn a mask but it was too hot.
I got paid 8.50 hr. 11 hour days no overtime. lol

Thank god for my new job.

i was about 10-12 years old

a neighbor worked for Wonder Bread

his daughters usually did this gig - but one time they couldn't. i was gone so my bro and sis "volunteered" me to do their jon

I was "Freddy the Fresh Guy"

what it involved was this neighbor dropped me off at a grocery store about 15-20 miles from home around 9A and he came back to pick me up arouns 1P

i went into the back of the store and came out as a HUGE (even though i wasn't even a teen - i was still well over 5-feet tall) loaf of Wonder Bread. i put this thing over my head and walked around the store. for the kids i would pass out little cheap plastic rings and for the mommies i gave them a coupon for wonder bread.

during my 4 hours i must have had AT LEAST 20 kids (most of whom barely older than me) punch my costime (i never felt it, though) as well as hold on to it and other stuff like that

the ONLY reasons i did it was cuz it was far from home and NO ONE knew it was me. i went back to that store some 20 years later to get a few items and laughed my a*s off thinking about this moment

My worst job was on an assembly line. I accepted a job manually putting little springs in car door handles - all day long.

Well it would have been all day long - every day - for years on end - except I quit after a couple of hours.

I don't know what I was thinking, taking that job. It couldn't have been a worse fit for my personality and the result couldn't have been more predictable.

Dante,

Isn't a DD214 the form you get when you get discharged from the military? I don't think that's ever killed anyone. You might mean DDT.

I cut grass at a Polish cemetary for 85 cents an hour. After that I dug grave foundations, buried people and then dug graves with a pick and shovel. Digging graves was the ultimate job at the cemetary and that paid 2.50 an hour.

Grew up in the country; my first job, at age 13, was on my neighbour's Standardbred horse farm. I literally shovelled shît for a living. Picked up rocks in the fields, broke in the yearlings - and got tossed and broken alot, too - baled hay, watched horses being gelded. All this fun for $3.15 an hour. To top it off, a twelve-year-old boy was making a dollar more an hour than me, simply because he was a boy. I always wished I didn't know that.
