Are any of you guys real hard workers? Grinding it out on Wall Street? Running your business from 5am-12am?

Yes I work very hard, basically around the clock, and I never spend any of my money.

not much to explain, i just dont like hard work. manual labor? hahahaha, forget it!

but whatever job i have had i find ways to work as little as possible....usually only takes me a few days before i figure out the system at the job and work around it.....but my numbers have always been there! for example, i was selling yellow page advertising about 4 years ago.....i worked 3 days a week and went to the casino the other 2.....every job i ever had i am able to set it up to do stuff like that.....

Identity,

Yes he does. That's his Saturday show called the Tasting Room, all about liquors, wine, beer, etc. I've only caught a couple of minutes of it, but that dude's one busy and rich sucker.

I'm trying to think of some way to spin my situation and have a legitimate claim that I work hard for a living. I certainly have my spells of very hard work. I'm in one right now that has been going on since before the Super Bowl. However I can't deny that I also have prolonged spells of slug-like behavior.

I think I work near the top end of the scale for smartness and creativity.

But in the spirit I think the question was asked I'd have to say no, not especially.

I can honestly say that. Quite often while I'm spending my nights gabbing on the forums, I'm also doing "day job" stuff on the side (that is time consuming, but often involves a lot of "wait time").

Thank God for remote access....that's all I gotta say. Otherwise, I'd consider myself a slave.

If you like or love what you are doing, you won't call it hard work. If you hate your job and can't wait to get out of there, working 4 hours a day at a desk would be enough for you to call your job hard.

Most of my time is spent thinking, but I still call that work because it relates to improving some element of my or my family's life. To an outside observer I'm a lazy bum but some of the stuff I come up with cannot just materialize on a whim. A mathematician can say he's had a full and successful career if he spends 99.9% of his time thinking and 0.1% writing down the solution to some famous unsolved problem that has stumped the world for centuries.

That sums it up Bill.

There is no reason for anyone to spend their life in some job that they hate. There is always something out there that you will enjoy. Some people find it early, some find it much later.....and others sadly never look long enough to find what it right for them.

I used to...worked hard and didn't understand what it was doing to me. One day the severe headaches started, so bad that I had to stay home from work. Seventeen days later I realized that I couldn't see out of my right eye. In the E.R. my blood pressure was 205 over 125. The pressure pretty much killed the retina in my right eye, but that's what saved my life.

I got on heavy medication, went back to work, and the hreadaches started again. Seeya. They were wild, especially when I asked the HR director how tall the statue of me would be if I dropped dead in the office.

That was 1 year ago last month. I bought a new Harley and rode it 11,000 miles with a tent and sleeping bag, rainsuit, two extra pairs of jeans, AAA maps, and a credit card.

I am never, ever, ever going to put myself into another situation like that. Stress kills--get your blood pressure checked. Think I'll go re-up my AAA membership. And the BP is back to normal, no more medication per my doctor!
