Always a HUGE fan of amatuer Wrestling my whole life, I've always looked forward to March, no for Baskets, but for NCAA wrestling Championships. They start thursday and I created plenty of Final Standings Matchups, To Win odds, and Individual Odds. You can access them thru my site or WagerWeb.com that advertises here. They are in the Props/Futures section under NCAA Wrestling.

Here's a few samples of the unique things offered that you wont find anywhere else:

Hmmm.....the guy didn't even win the Big 12 & the one who beat him is in the field.

You're already making me nervous Bagels.

Even though Scott pulled off the upset 2-1 in Big 12, Scott lost 6-2 to Haz earlier in year. Scotts seed of 9th pretty much reflects my expectations of him. I think 5th is realistic, while making the finals is a stretch.

Staylor may even test him in the opening round. The Big 12 was different in that it was a 1 day weigh in. Scott will have no easy task making weight 3x for the entire tourney. He is 18 years old and I think he may be a bit overwhelmed.

Field has a shot here only because of Scott, but IMO its a 3 man race between Haz, Ott, and Simmons. Moreno may break top 3 as well.

Best athletes bar none.

Although I was not a scholorship athlete, I did practice extensively with the Iowa wrestling team from 1977 -80. You have never seen or experienced a true workout until you have seen or lived through a Dan Gable season, no slack even for the practice dummies like me.

If you have been "Gable Trained" then I want you on my side when the fight breaks out.

P.S. Parties were just as intense.

I'll root for the Hawks but if they can't win it I hope Illinois with former Hawkeye Johson at the helm.

JARBO- Many of the Iowa wrestlers on the 1980-84 team were good freinds of mine. May or may not just missed you................small world.

I was real good friends with Barry Davis and in fact met up with him in Vegas around 10 years ago and I showed him around the city.

Barry, Jimmy Zalesky, Lenny Zalesky, and myself had many of the same classes together at the U OF I and we used to hang at the FIELDHOUSE downtown.

As you know, Barry is the head coach at Wisky now and Jimmy is the head man at Iowa.

Fish then you know where Shueyville is!

I actually had a few beers and played Clubs with Leonard Zalesky ( Jim and Lenny's dad) just last weekend. It is a regular occasion.

Obviously we have more than a few mutual Friends.

Did you guy's ever go to the Nickelodian for the "Matinee's" during college?

P.S. I worked at Maxwell's downtown.

Yes

Maxwells huh?

Frequented that place literally hundreds of times.

Small world!

Remember, stop in and say hello to my niece Jacqueline at the SIREN and MAKE SURE you tell her that her Uncle Strut sent you and say hi for me!
She is a GREAT GAL, as you will find out.

THE SIREN is located direclty across from where MAXWELLS used to be.

I've wrestled at the UNI Dome in Iowa a couple times, but only been to Iowa City 1x , back in 1982 or 83. Being from NY, I remember being amazed at age 13 of the 5 cent recylable soad cans and the 'Hawkeye Gold' soda. (we never had the recyclable cans in NY) Anyway, I met Gable that year and got a poster of his 72 Munich gold medal match autographed. I was thrilled.

It was really amazing for me for me to watch JR Nationals out there that year and to see what wrestling was all about. One of my childhood NY wrestling Hero's , Brad Penrith, ended up winning a gold there for NY , and signed to go to Iowa. He went on to win an NCAA title after numerous self destructive incidents on the campus. He was always a drinker.

Anyway, it was an experience that I will never forget.

Check out #27 on the list.........he was #4 in my IOWA rankings that I presented a few months ago.

To have some of the people listed ahead of my #4 is totally inaccurate!

I am in total agreement of the TOP THREE .......

GABLE
FELLER
KINNICK

---FISH---
Native Iowan

PS- Look for Dallas Clark to break into the top 50 in the next 3 years.

Early noteworthy update for fans.......I may be the only guy sweating wrestling and not baskets 2day. :103631605

Upset in RD 1. #4 seed went down at 157 (most wide open weight class) to Travis Piccard of Citadel.

157 Piccard BEAT Abdurakhmanov 7-4 in RD 1

I really expected Moose to be in the SemisFinals...........big dissappointment.

:sad3:

Toward the end of the 2nd Piccard score a take down on the edge of the mat. Abdurakhmanov pulls to within 1 at the end of the 2nd. Abdurakhmanov escapes the gets taken down. Piccard adds a point with ridding time to earn the big win.
