Street Facts from Las Vegas by Richard Reed

Besides discounts/deals listed below, we have added the
following section keeping you current with all the interesting
and noteworthy items happening around Las Vegas.

* Calling all Doctors . . . Nevada ranks 49th in the number
of doctors to patients' ratio. With the recent cap on
malpractice lawsuits, doctors should be flooding to
Nevada . . . Let the floods begin.

* As we reported several months ago, this week the Palms
Casino publicly announced their new condo high rise tower,
50-story, 599 units. Construction is expected to begin in
early 2006. Prices are ranging from $500,000 to $7 million
for the 600 sq. feet to 7,000 sq. feet units.

* Is this your cup of tea? March 21-23 at the Las Vegas Hilton
more than 160 of the world's finest tea and tea-related vendors
will be displaying their products.

* NASCAR this past weekend was another huge success and
this takes Las Vegas into one of the most important conventions
of the year, ConExpo. Rooms will be tough with March madness
starting also.

* Gin Blossoms, the alt-rock group, hits the stage of The Hideaway
Showroom at the Silverton Casino on Saturday, March 26 at
8 p.m. Tickets are available for $25.

* Newest mega rumor . . . Allegedly a new resort is trying to
find a location to become the ultimate sports casino, not to
mention the largest hotel in the world with 7,500 rooms.
Not sure if this is another Vegas pipe dream, but it would
be nice to see someone build a quality sports casino.

* Cannery Casino flashes back to the Ed Sullivan era with,
A Really Big Shew, April 22-23. Show times are 7p and 9p
and admission is $10.

* Hogs & Heifers, New York City's dive bar, is opening this
April in Las Vegas. Proprietor Michelle Dell is looking for
female bartenders. Auditions are March 25 at the 3rd Street
Stage on Fremont Street starting between 9-10a. Ms. Dell
requests all girls be dressed in jeans, halter tops and boots,
no heels or platforms.

* George Carlin will launch a series of exclusive appearances
at the Stardust Casino April 21-May 4.

* Only 44 more days until the opening of the Wynn Casino.
Just another $2.7 billion project, maybe, but Wynn has never
let the city down. He has built some of the most visitor enticing
properties in Las Vegas history. Good Luck. The new casino
will have 16 world class restaurants, unprecedented shopping,
a Ferrari dealership and yes, a casino also.

* Speaking of counting down days, it is only 2 months away until
the 100th anniversary of the founding of Las Vegas, May 15.
This date celebrates the land auction that created Las Vegas
into a wild west city in the desert.

* Cannery Casino forges ahead with its $40 million expansion
project and plans to break ground on phase two in mid-March.
The targeted opening date for phase two, which will include an
Italian restaurant, poker room, race and sports book,
multipurpose room, management offices and Galaxy Movie
Theatres, is first quarter 2006.

* Magician Rick Thomas closes his afternoon show at the
Tropicana Casino after many successful years. Good news
is, he is opening his new show at the Stardust Casino starting
March 25. We wish him the best. He is one of the greatest
performers this city has to offer.
