Camera's are allowed. But if you are looking for something to do, you are in the wrong town. My wife is from Augusta, and I have spent much time there.
Washington Road is where all the eating places are. Other than that, there is nothing to do. FT Gordon is near, a military base, so that will give you some idea what the area is like. For the most part, it is run down, but they are trying to give it a face lift.
Drive to Savanh GA. for a day, only about 2-3 hours if I recall correctly. Great city.
Other than that, after golf, there is not more much more in Augusta.
