Los Angeles Dodgers lefty Kazuhisa Ishii is close to being dealt to the New York Mets in a trade for catcher Jason Phillips, sources familiar with the move said Saturday. The trade is expected to take effect by Sunday evening, the sources said.

Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig's seal of approval is necessary to realize the deal since the difference in the two players' salaries is more than $1 million

Each day i am more convinced that the dodgers can get worst. Another bone head trade when you are now in a pitchers league each day. You go get a knuckle ball pitcher who will no doubt give up 7 to 9 runs a game, when you could have kept a decent picther who could throw for you in between those knuckleballer starts???
