Been a real rough year for Timmy. Seems like he is getting injured once a week. Or nagging injuries that never fully heal. Coach Pop caught between rock and hard place with no lead for homefield. Should be interesting in the West.

As usual, thinks for all of the info Slim.:toast:

I am very cynical of Suns chances with one legged Nash. Plus they play lousy defense, and are basically fundamentally unsound. Sometimes they can hide the deficiencies by outscoring the opponent. But in the playoffs, in a 7 games series, you cannot be unsound with the basics. One telling stat that seems to hold up for years, FG% opp. Do not mean to burst your bubble, but when was the last time an uptempo team even made the Finals?

OF, if not SA, then who? Dallas? Sac? I just think if Duncan were to be hobbled and they fall then it's wide open, and Phoenix is certainly capable, style notwithstanding. Most of the other teams are uptempo as well. But I think SA probably takes it.

I wouldnt count the Heat out. they are the best team in the NBA right now. 12 game winning streak to boot.

The best team in the league yesterday, right now and tommorrow is San Antonio - if Dunan were unable to play in the playoffs they obviously have no chance - Miami would lose 4-2, squeeking by at home and getting blown out in the games in SA - the Heat could easily lose in the playoffs to Detroit.

the heat match up extremely well with detroit, and would dominate them in a playoff series...

I think we are talking about the West, or Miami would be included. D2, to be honest, I am still working on who and why from the West. Just about scratch Spurs if Timmy is out. Been a while since a lower seed snuck in. But I need to see seeding, path to get there to formulate an educated opinion vs. speculation. April 20th should be the date, if not sooner, as I feel it is such a tossup this year I need homefield and potential opponents. Last year I had Spurs/Motown. Early also. Much different now. Give me a month.

Miami is playing better than anybody in the league right now. who do you think that is playing better then them right now, you think the Spurs in the last two weeks are playing better, not even close who"s playing the best ball in the NBA as we speak. and when the Heat does play the Pistons in the Series, you will defintely be able to get some sauce with the Pistons, because they defintely will be the UNDERDOG.

May sound odd, but Miami matches up better with San Antoinio than they do Phoenix. Miami cannot put up enough points to keep pace with Phoenix, although I will agree home court would probably be the deciding factor.

That I agree with Hache. Miami loses some strength in a uptempo game. Shaq just does not run the floor well, or on enough possessions. And all the guys they gave up to get him, took a hit on depth for tired starters. This is the kind of year where I say, team A will win if they face team B, but not team C. It is that close. Not sure Shaq will not dominate in post season, as far as knocking defenders over. Sadly, top two factors will probably be injuries and officiating.

Just a little does of reality for the Miami fans:

Spurs +165
Miami +375

The Spurs also have to come out of the west when calculating these odds. The Heat only have to beat Detroit. So basically, the Heat are starting in the finals and the Spurs could face Minny in the first round yet the Spurs are +165 and the Heat are +375.

And while Wade is one of the beat players in the league right now he would struggle in a full series against Bowen.

I say give Shaq the MVP but that is about it. As far as I'm concerned the MVP should go to Duncan or Shaq every year. These are the only two players in the league whom no matter what team they play for they are competing for a title. Could you imagine a team with Duncan or Shaq missing the playoffs? That's why Iverson, McGrady, Kobe and Garnett are 100 yards behind these two.
