It would be most fitting if this bloated piece of s#it winds up having to retire without breaking aaron's record.The guy will be dead within 5 years and i say good riddance and welcome the day his heart gives out and the a$$hole drops dead.

arty: He is a a piece of garbage cheater along with mcgwire and the rest of the scum. If mcgwire, bonds and the rest gets into the hall the game will be tainted forever. It makes me sick that one day those names will hang on the same walls as Mantle, Ruth,Paige, Cobb and the rest of the players who made baseball what it is.
As a collector of vintage cards it will only increase the value of my cards which is ok by me but as a fan it makes me sick. And yet pete isn't allowed in baseball or the hall.What a joke!!

well I don't wish Ill health on him but I do hope he does the right thing and retires and leaves the record alone since Aaron deserves to keep it.

I would vote for him for the hall of fame but not Mcgwire.

Bonds was a good enough player prior to juicing to warrant a HOF induction.

Emotionally drained,lol, yeah right. He sees how McGwire won't get into the Hall of Fame as easy. He knows if he breaks this record hes in trouble because of steroids. Better of not to break record, stop playing and go into hall of shame.

my favorite part of the interview blaming his troubles on the media:

hopefully bonds is done and never plays another game as it would be a real crime if this fraud is above the greatest ball player of all time (in every aspect)on the home run list.What would the babe have done in this era of small parks, drawn in fences and juiced baseballs? 80? 90? 100 hrs?It makes me sick that these 2 are compared in same comparisons as it is. There is no comparison. Bonds is a fraud and nothing else.

I knew this season when that steroids issue hit the fan that Bonds would "injured." Sure enough. What a joke. Got so sick of hearing about him when living in the Bay Area. I guess Canseco felt if he wasn't going to the Hall, none of the others should.

Exactley, then when he does come back the steroid issue will die down or be resolved, and he will be the 3rd coming of Christ agian as he pursues the record "against all odds."...puhleeze

top sports writers said he was going to bail out because of injury. this way he has excuse for coming back with a little less muscle. but dont you think for one minute he will retire. he wants the white boys record so bad ( the babe). if he has to come back on one leg just to pass the babe. he will. no way this puke retires behind the babe. 200 to 1 odds here he doesnt retire. no way
