Suns, Spurs, & Heat..........are going to make the playoffs exciting this year!

These three teams are in a dog fight for not only the best record in the league, but home court advantage throughout the playoffs. Phoenix recently took the lead ....

Depending on how long Duncan is out, it could hurt the San Antonios chances of gaining home court even in the West.....

Cmon Phoenix! I've got them at 33-1 !!:suomi:

Suns play much better on the road. I am not sure if that changes in the playoffs though. Up to now though they have hotdogged and tried to play stylish at times when hard work and fewer style points would work better. On the road they play more D and seem to shoot fewer 3s. That is the style they will need in the postseason.

I agree that they do play better on ther road on some occasions WildB, but that's not going to be the case if San Antonio edges them out for home~court in the West. If they have to travel to San Antonio rather than play host for first games, then they are done.........

The way the Pistons handled the one-two punch of Shaq/Kobe last year makes me believe the Heat won't trouble them too much. I agree Pistons are the team to beat, but the one thing about the Suns is they seem to lose mostly to teams that want to run with them. Defense doesn't stop them as much as their lack of defensive effort can stop them. When a team comes in wanting to run it all night they can tend to forget defense and forget rebounding and it can cost them. Should be interesting to see how they change playing style come playoffs. They have made some decent defensive efforts since Nash threw that tantrum in Memphis, maybe, just maybe, they have decided its time to step it up on that end of the floor.

With Duncan out the Suns have a huge advantage. The Heat can play with the Spurs. But they cant win a fast paced game. No Duncan plays into the Suns hand.

The thing people aren't paying attention to though is the fact that the Spurs really want number one not because of home court against the Suns. There is something bigger on the table, the fact that they would likely face a second round matchup with Seattle, a team that matches up well against them. Ray Allen is a tough stop for Ginobili. Manu would use up much of his effort just sticking with him and likely won't be as big a force on offense. They would force the Spurs to beat them with Parker. Not saying Parker can't beat them, but he has not been consistent come playoff time. In any case very hard to say the Spurs wouldn't care if they had to face Seattle and Seattle had home court. Spurs probably find a way to win that series provided Duncan is 100%, but that is a far more difficult task than facing Dallas or Sacramento in round two, which they would likely get if they got the top spot. Don't overlook Seattle in all this, I think they are playing well just under the radar. They too need to refocus on the defense come playoff time, but they have lots of good weapons that can't be overlooked.

It all depends by Duncan in my opinion. With Duncan healthy Spurs wins the title, without him they have no chance. I agree Wild SEA is the most dangerous team for SA.
