Last night, during the Memphis-Vandy game, a weird play happened. Memphis guy had the ball, and sprained his ankle or twisted his knee or something. He was in immediate pain, and traveled with the ball, taking 4 steps without dribbling. Ref stopped the game, but gave the ball to Memphis, in effect stopping the play before the travel. I figured that they had to call traveling, regardless of the injury, and give the ball to Vandy. The announcers didn't say anything, and I kept thinking to myself that this could not be right. Next dead ball, Kevin Stallings, the Vandy coach, was arguing with the ref, and I'm sure it was about that call. Ref screwed up, right? Cause it wasn't like he was injured and let it be known before traveling. He just pivoted, sprained the knee or whatever, and started skipping on one foot in pain. Seems irrelevant that the travel was caused by injury.
