you have learned the in's and outs of how to day trade .

you have learned the in's and outs of how to sports bet.

which do you have a better chance of being successful at ?

depends on how you are going to play each.

if you are going to middle, scalp and collect bonuses, you are probably better off with sportsbetting.

with daytrading, there are plenty of fairly stable stocks to play with i would think.

I'll say day trading, but I can't do it anymore since I'm "in the industry".

Tough stuff, but very profitable if you're good.

Don't get me started....Stats 971 cost me a masters in Econ.

Rule #1.....if there are 8 people in the class & you're the only "non asian" you're probably in trouble.

Honestly never did have a clue...it was that bad.

Sports Betting crushes Day Trading

Last Time I checked Schwab doesn't give 16% sign-up bonuses. Or let you have Villanova +7 1st half.

If every poster here spent the same amount of time learning to day trade as they do learning to bet...they would all have tons of cash. Much easier than betting on sports, just not as fun.

Put in sportsbetting terms, it is very possible (and not that difficult actually), to be 50-55% trading...with the winners being +200 or more and the losers being -105. Still...it is easy to lose if you have no clue.

Actually, you have a third option which is a mix of the two you said:

you can trade odds of sporting events on the betting exchanges.

Have done both. trade is a lot easier and minimal juice.

Big Plus, very legit and no gestapo worries.

This is not even close as I know friends of mine that do both...

While the ALL have been successful at Sports Betting, the same CANNOT be said about day trading...

Anyone who tries to convince you otherwise is either misinformed or lying...

currencies trade 24 hr. a day...sunday though friday...short or long...you can also scalp the market...need to use stop/limit management...but i enjoy it more so than sports betting nowadays...trading ONLY the YEN...

If you have a sports bettor and a day trader, each with 5 consecutive winning years, I'd say the sports bettor is more likely to win again in the 6th year.

A real business? Over 50% of "real businesses" fail within five years.

I would say either could be profitable. I have done both and with day trading you are pretty much tied to your trading platform during market hours, unless you are doing black box trading and are really confident in it. I made a lot of money day trading index funds (index funds are a great reason never to buy a mutual fund, but this is another subject all together).

Sports betting on the other hand seems to allow for more flexibility in schedule. Its also more fun to watch a game than to stare at a damn ohlc chart minute by minute.

If you were equally confident in your abilities in both activities I would definately choose sports betting.
