Now that i've gotten the Zona/Ill game out of my system, reality has set in, and it looks like UL's dream run will end next weekend. I am a huge Pitino fan, but i feel Ill is too talented and balanced for the Cards.
Also, MSU's toughness the last 2 weeks has been amazing and can beat anybody right now (including Ill). UNC has been anything but dominant the past month, and you also have the Roy Williams factor.
Could very well see an all Big 10 Title game.

That would be cool and UNBELIEVABLE considering how down the Big Ten was this year.

Or how down the Big 10 was perceived to be this year. Big 10 still had 3 legit Top 25 teams. Nothing wrong with that.

Exactly!

Perception is everything, it was down in the sense that Purdue and Penn St were just awful, but the top was as good as any top 3 anywhere...INCLUDING THE ACC

I think the perception is reality. Cincy spanked Iowa, ISU spanked Minny, Vandy spanked IU. Big ten was def not atop the conf this season. Wiscy, MSU, & Ill were legit. Rest of league was like Jr college.

They were down in the regular season, up in the tourney. In this what have you done for me lately business, they are just covering everything. Looks like networks/NCAA making sure Tarheels make the final. Just ask Nova about that traveling call. Would not be surprised if NC/Ill. Louisville should be closer to pk with Illini. The back from the dead trick usually only works once. Still, best basketball I have seen in a decade. 3 OT games and a down to the wire. This is too easy, I'll take the points. NBA has a tough act to follow, unless last 3 games are blowouts. With the current form, and extreme closeness of the last 8 teams, I would say more to follow. My props to the Big 10. You may have had two left feet during the regular season, but you are waltzing through the big dance.

Illinois spanked everyone. Iowa spanked Louisville, Texas Tech, Texas. Ohio St spanked Texas Tech. Michigan St beat Duke and nearly beat them in a road game, too. Arguments like this are always going to end up being "my dad could beat up your dad" arguments.

I think the big 10's ascent came at the expense of the ACC, 1 team in Elite 8, and the Big East, again, 1 team, and a middle of the pack team. That is not the norm. How many ACC and Big East teams were in the Elite 8 last year? Everything changes, from year to year. But the Big 10 does play a different style of ball. More deliberate and ball control. That style has translated to wins in close games, where it should, as those last possessions are invaluable. Seems like the Big 10 plays the entire game, like it is the last possession. Well, the big 10 top teams. Penn St and Purdue play like the bus is idling in the parking lot. Pretty ugly sendoff for Keady. Very tough recruiting into a lame duck season. I am happy for the big 10. They seem to stress team concepts and fundamentals over showboating athleticism. Good for them.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:
