PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) -- Ichiro Suzuki set a Seattle spring training record by getting a hit in his 16th straight game and drove in three runs to lead the Mariners to a 15-9 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Sunday.

Suzuki had two hits in five at-bats and is hitting .518 (28-for-54). He broke Ken Griffey Jr.'s record from 1986. ``He's just amazing,'' Mariners manager Mike Hargrove said. ``I tried to get him to come out in the sixth (inning) but he wanted to stay in as he is taking a day off tomorrow.

.400 is possible, especially with steroids. Increase speed, will beat out many throws to first. Ichiro already quick, but if speed increases so will hits. He's great at grounding to third!

.400 always possible with Ichiro, although many hits will be singles. Guy has amazing speed and beats out routine grounders. It's great to watch the fielders on how they have to hurry their throws to first when he grounds out. Probably the greatest leadoff hitter of my time. (25 yrs)
