I guess the Lakers are one of the teams; some of us were discussing this last night around here in the late night neighborhood.

I know the Hawks don't have a chance but they accept the fact that this franchise is under a massive rebuilding project. Here in Atlanta we have heard the phrase "rebuilding year" forever, but this time it holds some merit. The Hawks have some great young talent in Lue and Josh Childress; I believe Al Harrington will be back next year as well.

They already have one first round draft pick next year and are almost guaranteed a second pick as long as the Lakers don't make the playoffs; I don't know the details why but it was somehow mixed up with the Antoine Walker trade to Boston.

The team currently has a better attitude than their 11-58 record would lead one to believe. They have accepted their fate and are trying to find positives to build upon for next season. Today in the Atlanta-Journal Josh Childress said, " Our goal is to get as many wins as we can in these next 13 games."
So I won't say they have given up, I'll say they are ready for next year..LOL.

They play @ Orlando tonight, thats a good place to start.

Who else has mailed it in?

don 't bet against this team swept the magic last week back to back right out of the playoffs and followed that up beating the east dominating HEAT. <!-- / message -->

Lakers are prime candidate; las night home vs. Phil

they were down three at half and were -2 in second half;
guess what? They got first four points then lost the
lead and caved in, losing by 9.:sad3:

We have a problem tonight. Atlanta plays Orlando.

I took the Hawks +9...thats alot of points for a struggling Orlando to give up. The Hawks always seem to keep it close as <10 dogs if you don't count that Knicks blowout last week; Harrington was out that game and Childress had food poisoning. Hawks >10 dog you never know..usually an azz whoppin.

THAT WAS A VERY DISAPPOINTING LOSS FOR LAKERS YESTERDAY. KOBE HAD WALKED OFF THE COURT BEFORE THE BUZZER SOUNDED. THEY HAVE TO BE NUMERO UNO WHEN THE TOPIC IS WHO HAS PACKED IT IN FOR SEASON.

IF ORLANDO LOSES TONIGHT AT HOME TO ATLANTA, IT IS PROBABLY SAFE TO ASSUME THEY HAVE THEIR SUMMER WARDROBE AND VACATION SPOTS CHOSEN.

Big talk out here in LA of Chucky Atkins calling Kobe the GM of the team.

The wheels are off.

If Grant Hill and rookie Dwight Howard weren't on the Magic,(those 2 will never quit) I would say Orlando, mainly because of Cancer Stevie Wish~He~Was~A~Franchise......

God!!!!!!!! I still can't believe how STUPID this organization was for giving up McGrady for this guy!:ohno:
No comparison of the 2........

The Lakers and GM Kobe deserve Steve Francis. If not LA, maybe he finally will agree to play in Vancouver.

Milw Bucks have lost 5 in a row I believe. Might just be from the West Coast road trip or might just be their awful personnel.

Pistons In A Major Funk Coming Down The Stretch. I Suppose This Season They Are Going To Play Role Of Lakers Playoff Flop In 2004.

Cleveland Cavs are in shambles. They'll be hard pressed to hold on to their playoff seeding down the stretch.

Hard to believe they were favorites tonight after coming off that 5 game trip and losing in Utah on saturday. Indy was in Det friday, and Chic sat so their travel was less grueling.

Man was that some sh*t there at the end or what.....w/o Harrington the Hawks are a mediocre Div II team at best. If there is any such thing as a 18 point blowout turning into a bendover backdoor cover that was it.

Did any of you get to see the game? Howard and Francis looked pretty good and Grant Hill is back, but a step slower than before.

The Hawks couldn't even dribble the ball and looked sluggish, this was a 3 in 4(2 away) situation for them and they weren't even in the building for 46 minutes, and then to cover was a true miracle.

I would have never taken the Hawks if I had known Harrington was out but as it turns out it was lucky money....I had already "mailed it in" at the end of the 3rd quater. What does this say about Orlando?

They fouled Atlanta 3 straight possessions in the final 90 seconds or so. When you are up 18 aren't you trying to keep the clock moving?

BTW HOW was Portland favored tonight? Have they not mailed it in?
