Were you betting in 2001, I believe it was? In the Final Four, Maryland led Duke 41-19, and Duke made a furious run to cut it to 11 at the half. I remember watching the halftime interview with Gary Williams, and thinking, "His team is up 11, yet they have no chance at all to win the game." I wasn't betting then, but I would have taken Duke for the limit on that halftime line. One of the weirdest games I can remember.

Yes I sure as hell do...And Duke also knocked ina long 3 pointer at the buzzer by Dunleavy at the half....Here we had Duke down by 22 in the Final Four and we also had just won the Super Bowl...I thought to myself..."Is this really happening"?

And sure enough it wasn't! LOL....Maryland also blew a 10 point lead with 1 minute left to Duke that same season on its home floor!

We did come back next year and get backto the Final Four and win the whole thing, beating UCONN, KENTUCKY, KANSAS, and INDIANA...now that was impressive!

BTW Maryland has had a few great comeback vs Duke too in recent years...and has pretty much owned Duke since that game...STUNNING Duke in the ACC final last year in miraculous fashion....

Momentum is a strange thing to explain and understand. It's not tangible, but we all know it exists. I really felt like they had no chance at halftime, but they had an 11 point lead. Not really logical, but so true. I'd like to study momentum and figure out why it is as powerful as it is. If anyone could train people to overcome it, then home court advantage would not exist.
