Mr. Teaser:
I always like to see the Angel's play at Tempe Diablo but that's just because it's close to where I live and I'm a fan of the team. I've also seen games at Phoenix Muni where the A's play. You should try the Peoria Sports Complex. It's a relatively new complex in the northwest part of the Phoenix Metro area. There is also a new stadium at Surprise, AZ. Best Known For: Opened in 1986, the restaurant was owned by legendary announcer Harry Caray, and former Major League pitcher/current Cubs announcer Steve Stone. It was originally called Harry & Steve’s Chicago Grill.
The opening started a long-standing relationship with Cub fans, and all spring training fans. It was known as the place to come and hang out, as well as star gaze during spring training. While eating or drinking at the restaurant you never knew who you might see, from Harry himself, to Cubs legends Fergie Jenkins or Ron Santo.
The business associates parted company in 1994. The restaurant at this point was known as Steve Stone’s Chicago Grill. In April of 1998, the restaurant was purchased by a local resident, Doug Seipel. He continued to focus on spring training, while broadening the scope of the sports side, to include all varieties of sports throughout the year.
On June 1st, 1999 the name of the restaurant was changed to Sluggo’s Sports Grill, a name that would show Doug’s individuality.
