just got an e-mail from pinnacle. they are claiming accounts ( multiple?) using " robotic tools" are eminating from my IP and will not allow me any access back into my account until it stops.

I have no idea what the hell they are talking about. about half the time I dont log-in and just look at lines. if I want to bet, I log-in. About half the time, I log-in before anything else. Just a convenience issue, logging in all the time is a pain.

I'm hardly a master " robotic tools" criminal. Pinnacle is weird!!!!!:monsters-

I guess they don't want people who just look at their lines but never bet, or run some computer program to scan lines. I probably bet there 4 or 5 days a week at least. As far as robotic programs, I am a computer idiot. wouldnt have a clue where to get a program, how to install it, how to run it, what use it would help me with, etc.

I dont even care about Don Best. Has no help or meaning to me. I'm just a recreational guy. Which leads back to, PINNACLE IS WEIRD!!!!:monsters-

they really do need to improve customer service. Locking out customers because they didnt log in half the time is nuts. I had to come here to get their e-mail address, otherwise, I could'nt even contact them.

these guys are really perturbing me now. I wish I could cut and paste the e-mail conversation I am having with them, but I honestly don't know how to do that.

I am not good with computers and they seem to believe I have some program to spy on their lines.

they told me I may have a "tool or device that refreshes the lines too many times per minute" and will not allow me back until I PROMISE TO STOP!

I have no such tool or device. AND I SWEAR TO GOD and to everyone here that I am just a guy who bets and thats it. I DO NOT refresh lines there a lot. Thats whats really disturbing about this. I swear my betting is completely normal there. Some times when looking at their lines I bet, some times I pass. I DO NOT refresh a lot by any means. I am not a loser with no life that sits and watches numbers all day looking for a 2 cent scalp.

This is a legitimate customer service issue. Locking me out of my account and telling me to change is crazy when I can't change anything. I dont do a darn thing there out of the ordinary.

I did get locked out once before. I came here and some guy posted that they dont like it for some reason when you look at their lines but don't log-in. It was a saturday and I had been looking at lines a lot, but had never logged in there. I have been logging in at pinnacle more before looking at lines since and never looking for long without logging in. I figured that would solve the problem.

Pinnacle really needs better customer service!:sad3:

today I was looking at basketball lines there, not refreshing, just looked at the NCAA line and the NBA lines once. Just a looksy to see what was on tap today. Im sure all you guys do that in the morning at some book too.

then I was looking at the Red Sox Yankee props tonight. Not refreshing, just looked once.

I liked the " AROD to hit a HR" No at -260. Figured it should be higher. Went to espn.com to check and see about how ofter AROD homers in a game. Tried to get back into pinnacle and I have been blocked ever since.

SWEAR this is true. thats all I did. Sounds pretty routine to me.

Do I sound like a DANGEROUS ROBOT or highly efficient killer SPORTS BETING SYNDICATE to you?:icon_conf

would be laughable, except its true.

I guess I'm getting caught up in the dragnet because I dont log-in all the time. I didnt today. I'll have to log in all the time from now on.

But terrible, terrible customer service by Pinnacle to block the account access of a customer simply because he did not log-in before checking their lines. Why do they allow people to see their lines at all without logging in IF THAT IS SUCH AN ISSUE AND NO-NO TO THEM?

I remember the first time this happened to me, I missed betting all afternoon at Pinnacle because I thought there site was down. I had no idea they were blocking me. It was a big college basketball day and I probably bet 4 or 5 games elsewhere before I figured out what was going on with Pinnacle and they werent really down.

Mr Smith it is most likely that it is not you at all who is responsible for the IP block. I see your IP is originating from a fairly good sized city and you may be in the general geographic area of someone operating a bot that is intorrgating the Pinnacle line movements causing the block. I believe some other poster had a similar problem last year, I will try to find the old thread. In the mean time you need to explain by e-mail to Pinnacle exactly what you have posted here - namely your weekly activity rutine using the Pinnacle website.

Pinnacle really does have an excess of false positives. I've heard this same routine numerous times here and elsewhere. And typically it's a consequence of refreshing the guest lines "more than they'd like". It's rare that I say something negative about Pinnacle, but they really need to plug this leak in their rep. I know they're very concerned about bandwidth usage -- thus the XML feed offered -- but they make way too many false accusations. As someone said, you pretty much have to promise not to do 'it' anymore even though you're probably not doing it in the first place.

I have been going back and forth with them in e-mail. I keep telling them I do not use robotic tools and I cant very well PROMISE to change my behavior when I HONESTLY do nothing out of the ordinary there.

I CANNOT believe how much time I have spent on this now. I was going to go out jogging on the beach an hour ago.

Can someone tell me how to cut and paste my e-mail thread into this thread. I swear, I am nice to them in the e-mails, not ranting or anything. I'm always nice to everyone. ( Except for a few drunken rampage posts here every blue moon or so).

But the e-mail thread is like the Twilight Zone. I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone when they keep accusing me of using robotic tools.

Very poor customer service to keep accusing me of that when I keep assuring them and giving them my word I don't refresh much at all nor do I use any robotic tools.

signed,
Mr. Smith, Profeesional Pro syndicate robot user computer whiz guy.( I guess, at least Pinnacle seems to belive so) :digit:

as I have mentioned before, I am not a big bettor, making this all the more amusing. Pinnacle is scared of ME? ME? kinda funny.

I promised to log-in and I told them again I don't refresh muchand am not a robot and cant very well promist not to do stuff I dont do.

And they let me back in. I feel like I'm on double secret probation now. God help me if I need to hit the refresh button at some point.

:modemman: here is a picture of Mr. Smith, the whiz

my robot which lets me scan all lines in the universe every .3 seconds before making my $300 bets is hidden from view

If Pinny blocks your IP, you can probably access the lines using a proxy. You can use www.proxify.com but there are several other sites that provide the same service.

You won't be able to place wagers unless you have a paid account, but you should be able to view the lines at least.

I've heard that a robot from another source {another computer?}
can take over your computer. Since you claim to know nothing
about computers i am wondering if w/o your knowledge you have
allowed this to happen & don't know it.
