I noticed that if you buy runs on totals at Pinnacle the price they charge is way higher than last year. I was shocked to see buying a 1/2 run to bet the under to boost a total to 9 from 8.5-108 goes to 9-139. I know it did not go that high last year. What do you guys think?

That may not be the case for every game.

What are we supposed to do, cross our fingers and hope?

9 is a pretty expensive # since it is the most common # hit. Are you comparing the price to games lined 8.5 last year or just half runs in general. I can't remember what the prices were last year.

Curt,

Using your example of under 8.5 -108 compared to under 9 -139
you would have to achieve sufficient ties at 9 to warrant the
extra vig:

So, if 55 games our of 100 are under 8.5, and you were to
achieve 10 ties at under 9, you would now have a record of
55-35-10 at -139 which would be bout the same as 55-45 at -108.

On a line of 8.5, can you expect 9 to hit more than 1 in 10?
If so, go for it!

I used to buy 1/2 runs all the time. There is not doubt in my mind that Pinnacle is charging a lot more to buy a 1/2 run!!

Pinny is very sharp; they will charge just alittle more than

it's worth to buy; they have undoubtedly made adjustments.

Might be interesting to compare them with other buy prices
at other books.
