I hope this is not a bias opinion, but I am on it with ya for I feel the Braves will come out of the gates tomorrow strong. Their offense is going to be good this year!

I had a feeling someone would say that. Its not bias. I never let my heart tell me what to do with my money. I have even been known to play against the Braves in the past, if the play is strong enough. I know the Braves and the NL East better then any other division in the league.

Well someone had to say it. . . Actually I was just messing around with you. I know you arent someone who is just going to post plays on your favorite team, and for some people that is the best way to make plays. Betting on a team that you follow very closely and know alot about can be very profitable betting with/against them. Picking your spots is key! Good luck.

By the way Andruw Jones has been my favorite player since the day he came in the league, he is the $hit and they are expecting a huge year from him.

Its a contract year for Andruw, you know what that means. He hit 13 homers in the spring, by far the most in the majors. He is also hitting 4th in the lineup for the first time this season.

Choptalk,

Did you start regular season with 6-3 exhibition record?

Good luck with both of today's plays!

Yes I did, hope you dont mind. The reason I did this is so I can keep the same record here as I have on the RX tracking board. They will not let you reset your record once you start. It is much easier for me to keep track when they are both the same.

Regardless if this first game wins or loses, I feel really good about the Atlanta pick. We can still have a very good day. Best of luck to everyone.

Chop arent you the least bit worried about Smoltz's stamina? The guy has been a closer nearly all of his career. What good is 3 scoreless innings if he gives up 5 in the 4th? Also I really don't like the braves starting lineup this year. It is almost completely void of power.

This is Smoltz 18th year, and his 15th as a starter. I fully expect him to be able to compete at a high level this season, at least until the all-star break. The Braves have owned Beckett his entire career. He had a very medicore season last year. He is still living off his WS hype from 2 years ago. Thus the value on the Braves. How many pitchers go past 5 innings in the opening start anyway? Not very many. The Braves offense is very underated this year.

Fucal- Solid leadoff hitter with pop
Giles- an all star caliber 2nd baseman
C Jones- Played much better last season when he moved back to 3rd.
A Jones- In a contract year, hit 13 homers in the spring still only 28
Raul Mondesi- could surprise like JD Drew last season
A Larouse- comming off a great last 2 months of the season as a rookie
J Estradia- All star catcher for the NL
Brian Jordan- I do not expect much from him, but he is the 8 hitter

To say the Braves dont have power is ridiculous, they are full of it. Giles could bat 3rd if chipper wasnt there. I expect him to hit 25+ Hrs this season.

I agree chop, and note that I never said that the braves had a poor starting lineup. I said that the Braves lineup is void of power, which it is. That lineup is one of speed and defense, not power.

Anyway best of luck today.

Is this the year Rivera gets old? Would like to hear everyones thoughts. He sure hung a couple split fastballs today. Almost gave up go ahead homer to Damon. If thats the case, the Yanks are in trouble.

I think we will get the 2 unit play for those following, for a winning day. Beckett is 2-7 lifetime against the Braves.
