After leaving the room with the Mets up 6-4 and then returning 4 minutes later with the Reds jumping up and down all over the field....it start me thinking...

Last night I took the Atlanta Hawks + 4 at home against the Clippers; after 2 minutes of watching I realized I had just donated my money again, there was no need to watch anymore...but I did...I sat there and suffered for 3 hours.

So, is it better to enjoy the whole game with your team winning up until the last seconds, only to have the victory and money snatched from you in the blink of an eye? Or, had you rather sit through a hopeless game with dreams of your team and money coming back from the brink of defeat only to lose in the end?

When you lose there is no worse feeling than the moment when it all goes away...

When I had the Heat moneyline against the Pacers a few nights back.....when they were up 6 with a minute to go...and then missed 3 free throws...and Pacers started nailing 3's I felt sick....When they tied it up at the buzzer I knew I had lost...

I feel it would be a lot easier to just know the end result 5 mins after placing the wager...rather than gutting it out.....I rarely ever get an early "lock" of a win

no doubt lost early....for ex:

Had the under in Cubs/Az game....shot after 3. No problem, watch something else.

Padres game, up 10-8 2 outs bottom of the ninth, Hoffman facing 9, 1, 2 in the Rockies lineup..double, single, homerun. That hurt!!

losing from the start....if your team gives up a 8 spot in the bottom of the first....thats easier then a slow piss away game

I hate watching baskets when I have a wager on the game. It is a slow excruciating death. There are too many peaks and runs, you'll get sick to your stomach. That's why I like baseball better. Take for example today's game with the Mets. I had the Mets and going into the 9th inning, they had a two run lead. The game ended so suddenly with 2 homeruns by Cincy that I didnt even had a chance to feel anything. It was just so sudden and for me, it's easier to take than the grinding death of baskets.

w/o a doubt lose from the opening whistle/pitch/whatever

we all know there is NOTHING worse than some 18-year-old kid fouling at the end of the game down 10 w/10 sec left and his coach screaming NOT to foul - yet the kid does and the other team makes 2 FTs to win by 12 when you got +11.5 (TCU/MD)

like all of us - i HATE losing a play - but if i have a 8-point fave in an NFL game and it is 21-0 after 15 minutes that's easier to take than being up 28-14 and seeing the other team come down for a "meaningless" TD to back door me

all i have to do is mention the name Chris Duhon and w/o saying ANYTHING ELSE i'm sure there are people who recall what he did, to whom he did it against and how they'd like to kill him! - as well as how much $$$ he cost them!

Watching a big lead disinigrate is for me torture. I had the Oilers in the famous Buffalo Bills comeback game when Frank Reich rallied them from a 35-3 deficit against Houston. It was like watching a movie. A mess of fans left at halftime, only to be climbing the fences trying to get back in when the comback started. Truly a traumatic push (luckily had plus 3 ticket from the Gold Coast for a dime) I would have saved it but I needed the $1100 push money.
