It takes a lot for me to say this, but Weber got outcoached tonight. He should have been doubling down on May as soon as he saw that nobody could contain him down low. Especially with Augustine in such foul trouble. He should have made Carolina beat them from the outside. Instead, he allows May to shoot 10-11 from the field. And although this didnt factor into the factor into the final, Augustine should never have been in the game with 4 fouls when May was still on the bench. Just terrible coaching in my opinion.

They simply had no answer for Sean May. He carried Roy and the Tarheel squad on his shoulders.

Great game for the fans, ncaa, tv, and gamblers all got to watch a very good game.

I disagree, May will get his points. With those kind of numbers, he should have got the ball more. I let May score and try to shut down everyone else (to a point).

I definitely don't agree with double teaming with how easy the college 3 pointer is.

I agree, even though I love the job Bruce Weber did all year long. Those two inbounds plays in the first half that resulted in a dunk and a layup may have ended up being the difference in the game. A nine-point halftime deficit would have been easier to overcome than a 13-point deficit. Billy (fudge)Packer pointed out that the Illinois defenders didn't even turn their heads to look for where the ball was going, which indicates that they weren't prepared to defend that type of a play, even though they should know that NC would be looking for any opportunity to take advantage of their superior height and athleticism. Weber really rallied the troops in the 2nd half, but it just wasn't quite enough at the end.

I'm glad billy packer finally pointed out that Illini set moving screens all the time. They've been doing that all season!! He finally pointed it out at the end of the game. They are set for a screen 1 in every 10 times. Always leaning and moving into their screens.

It will be interesting to see how he recruits. His brother has one of top HS players in the state and he'll probably end up at DUKE.

That is what got Chaney nailed at Temple. He sent a thug out if they would not call moving screens, on St. Joes, I think that was the school. They allowed it more often than not this season. The teams that used them, and successfuly kept using them did not get called. Just another edge for the zebras to dictate the outcome.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:
