Back in the day, when Reggie came out for batting practice you could feel the aura that surrounded him....this was the 1970's when this sort of hype wasn't everywhere...

Reggie was what everyone wanted to emulate... that swing, the way he strutted around the bases...dude was as cool as they came.

When I was 10 years old, I asked Reggie for an autograph following an Indians - A's game....it was the day after Dick Bosman pitched a no-hitter against the then-defending world series champs. I naively said, "Mr Jackson, you guys stunk last night...." He glared at me, then replied, "kid, you stink today..." then crumbled the autograph and tossed it on the ground.

Fifteen years later, I saw Reggie at a banquet and relayed the story. He again glared at me......"Well, I hold grudges...." Walked away. Too funny. I never could tell if he was being a smart-ass, a prick or a comedian.

What a great picture! (both of them really) Reggie never walked back to the dugout wishing he had swung hard.

Yep, 30 rows deep into the right center power ally. Lemme put you to the test. Any good manager freakin out pics? (inspired by the pine tar incedent) 5 points for Earl Weaver or sweet Lou kicking dirt on an ump, 15 for Lasorda at the "F***ing Dave Kingman" press conference. 25 for an "in action" shot of Hal McRae throwing the empty 5th of Jack Daniels at the reporter.

haha very nice.

btw- Like the avitar. I grew up on 80's baseball and I hold a special place for all the superstars of the era. Eddie, Winfield, Murphy, Mattingly, schmidt, Jim Rice, and of course the entire 84 &87 detroit rosters. hell even Boggs and Rickey
