Parlay dogs with over, in general. To refine it a bit, look for larger ( +150 +) road dogs. If they win, I believe the over tends to win also. The questionable stud pitcher ( highly favored) loses by giving up runs ( lower totals help).

It's my opinion that the +200 type of dog, wins the game by scoring runs off of the pitcher that isn't expected to give up many runs.

So many times in MLB when on the dog, I find the only way I can win the game is if the dog overcomes the 5 runs the fav has already scored by the 5th inning, even if dog has 3 0r 4.

I believe dog wins by beating pitcher on off day, the bigger the dog the better.

I pick my spots, but that's a general philosophy of mine.

A guy with a database could help prove/ disprove my concept. My general idea is the dog wins with unexpected runs.

hmm. i would have thought the other way actually. seems like when big dogs win, its because a second class pitcher stepped up and dualed a good pitcher.

I believe it could go either way. However, when you cap out the game and decide on a dog, you are betting on them to either get to the other pitcher, OR have thier pitcher step up. So if you cap the dog, find your reason and go with it on the total!
