Was at the Masters on Wed. and yesterday. It was my second trip in a row and it was as awesome as the first time!

It's kind of like Groundhog's Day however, exact same people sitting in the exact same locations, I swear they were even wearing the same clothes.

TV doesn't do it justice, it is very hilly and you get a good workout if you try and walk the course to follow a golfer.

Meanwhile individuals claim golf is a non-athletic sport.

I thought that myself monday after walking much of augusta, i was breathing a bit heavy and was happy to sit awhile behind #6.

I mentioned to dad, It's kinda of strange I dont see any cart paths on this course, everyone whose ever played there has used a caddy.

thats typical of those exclusive clubs.. i was a club pro at a very private course in philly and we had a rule that if you were under 55 and able to walk that you had to use a caddy.. and our course was every bit as hilly as augusta..

merion east , outside of philly will not allow a cart at all..

pine valley has similar rules to what my course had.

those prices for food and drinks were awesome.. looks like early 80's prices..

nice of the membership to not want to gouge their patrons..

Would be a strange sociological study to see how 2 dollar beers would do at another sporting event. I dont think there was one fight or argument at the tourny with 2 dollar beers strangely, the crowd was upper class and older.

slightly different demographic from the croud at the masters to say a croud at a eagles game...

i would guess their would be atleast 3 homicides at a venue serving 2 dollar beers...

Jarbo ---Is the course all that it is made out to be by the media? It looks awesome on T.V. but that might be part of the mystique the media has created, combined with the fact that it is impossible to get on the course.

Who cares about $2 beers if it costs thousands for tickets?

The course is MORE than it's made out to be. TV does not do it justice, although I watched some replays in HDTV and that helps give a better representation.

I've played Pebble Beach and the Old Course at St Andrews, Augusta is the last of my dream list, probably won't make it.

TV does not do it justice ehh. I will definetely have to go to the Masters someday. How hard to get/how expensive are tickets?

I also heard that it is so hard to get on the course that the CEO of Coca-Cola coudn't get on.

Very few ways to get Thurs-Sun Masters tix. Someone in your family that has tix would need to die and you can get them or you better know someone seriously hooked up. There is no real market for scalpers/EBay etc... because so few people are willing to sell or part with their tix. I know plenty of people that have gone to practice rounds but only one that went to the tourney (a good friend who was the teaching pro at Baltimore Country Club went every year). Toughest ticket in ALL sports because $$ to most in attendance menas so little.
