Jim Rome question

Why does Jim Rome hate Phil Mickelson? Everyday on his show he is making his Hefty remarks or some reference to Mickelson's girth. The dude may be carrying a couple extra pounds but it is not like he is obese. Did Mickelson steal his girl friend at on time or what gives? They are both SO Cal guys so I don't get it. I totally get the Ashlee Simpson bashing but I must be missing something with Mickelson.

He usually bashes people that don't do interviews with him.As far as Mickelson goes,he had Steve Elkington on the show awhile back and he asked him if Mickelson was popular among the players. Elkingtom said I don't know, So Rome ran with that and said he isn't popular amongst his peers. Irresponsible as far as I'm concerned

He's really not that heavy. The camera adds about 10 pounds to his frame. I saw him at Doral a few weeks ago and was surprised to see that he actually looks faily fit in person.

Always had a hard time understanding how some people can be overweight on the PGA golf tour considering one takes extended long walks at least 5 times a week.

I've listened when Elk was a guest. No matter what Elk would say Rome would giggle like a little school girl. It was actually kind of embarrassing. From what I have heard Elk is his all time favorite guest.

I love his phony jungle Karma. He invites guests whose team is expected to win the following weekend and of course if they win, He will go into his " Jungle Karma, it just never fails " Of course the airwaves are silent when one of his guest or their team loses ! Phony Karma for sure !

Exactly. He flames him because he wants nothing to do with Rome. Like I put in another post and player or city that doesn't want anything to do with Rome he will go rants flaming them at every opportunity.

So true. After listening to him for a short period time a while back I used to wonder if he got his as@ kicked alot when he was growing up. There is a real sense of bitterness there.

It is an acquired taste. Some will like him a lot, some will hate him a late but at the end of the day there is definately a place for him.

Bottom line, the guy is a media genius, and is very good at what he does. I think I would probably want to punch the guy if I knew him in real life. And I guarantee he was a loser in high school and college, and has probably never played anything besides little league baseball. That being said, I love hearing his guests, think his takes are hilarious, and really enjoy the show.

Rhome is a punk

When Everett moved on him and he was falling back off his chair he had his leg in the air looking like the 5 foot 6 punk he is. He wears a goat and runs his tough prison drag slang as a front to the jocks he interviews.
