Oakland A's (Zito) -133
Cleveland (Westbrook) +103

Lean on Phillies
Leaning towards the Phillies with Gavin Floyd on the hill, but hesitating to pull the trigger until he gets one game under his belt. He's in the same class of highly touted pitchers like Scott Kazmir. Younger pitchers always have more life on their ball in the beginning part of the year, and as the year wears on they aren't used to the 162 game season, their ball flattens out and they get stroked. I'm just not sure if Floyd has the maturity yet not to sh*t himself on his 1st start with that Cardinals lineup. Suppan is a savvy vet, but nothing special and he's past his "prime" if you want to call it that. Still researching this one, but I'll probably lay off until Floyd gets one under his belt.

Nationals/Marlins OV (Best Bet)
With Valdez still out, Brian Moehler gets the spot start for Florida. He will be used out of the Marlins pen this year, and it's a rare start for him. He should get knocked around a bit, and he won't be expected to go deep into the game and I doubt the Marlins will empty their pen to win one game and ruin their next few with a depleted pen. So, they may let one guy out their to dry and eat up innings, giving up a few runs in the process. Livan is a very streaky pitcher who can be lights out, but when he's cold, he's ice. He got ripped last game, and I think he'll have a hard time with the Marlins lineup, too. This game should go over.

Oakland
Zito's nasty 12-6 curve should hold the young Devil Rays at bay in the dome and he should induce some groundballs against an inferior club filled with some young hitters. I don't know why this line isn't in the -150's for Zito. Even though the money is being laid, I still find this to be a value pick.

Cleveland
Finally, Westbrook has had as much success against the Tigers as one man can have against any team. Magglio Ordonez is still out with a viral infection, keeping a hole in their lineup. Tigers starting pitcher is a young, inexperienced Wilfredo Ledezma. If you've ever seen him pitch he's pretty filthy from the left side and was a good Latin prospect. But he doesn't have much experience starting yet, and his mental toughness has yet to be tested. He's going to have to pitch lights out to out-duel Westbrook, who has owned the Tigers. Westbrook struggles with lefty hitters but the Tigers only have one good true left handed hitter being Higginson and Young is a switch hitter. The Tigers are favored here simply because they have a stronger lineup and are playing at home. Good value with the Indians.
