We should remeber when EVERYONE is on the same team it is usually not a good sign....

Cleveland today was the perfect example. I didnt see anyone on DETROIT at all. Myself included... You guys might think this is retarded but just watch over the course of the year "when it looks too good to be true, it usually is.."

Just my opinion..PEACE :103631605

Anyone who is a regular in any forum knows it always happens like that. NBA is a great example. Thats why POD thread is awsome, it shows you how many people are on the same play. Over a long period of time you will see the lower bracket guys pick a popular play which is fadable and will not go through 70% of the time. Yestarday tons of people were on the Wolves... it was a money play.. and it flopped. When a solid POD developes in this forum with 3-4 weeks in the banks ... fades will be easier to catch.

The reason this is the case, I believe, is that there is no way in heck that any one pick is ever soooo easy that everyone sees it. If there were a pick every day or three in any sport that was sooo easy to see that EVERYONE says, "Yep, this is the one and let's take it to the bank," the books would be hurting, and they aren't. Not every, every time does the consensus lose AND because someone is on a consensus doesn't make them a loser. But, if everyone sees value in a play, then that may be a 'trap' play or something unseen may be involved. I watch for these to. Many times I place a wager, place my post and THEN find out I'm in with a huge consensus! That makes me cringe, I can tell you! So, Pete is right. Unfortunately, unless we wait right until the horses are off, many times you, me, and the rest will find ourselves with the consensus pick! All I am saying is: truely watch out for the consensus picks as that is most important. BUT, finding yourself part of the consensus doesn't make you a loser or a fade....maybe for that game, though! LOL Great thread. tulsa

I wouldnt go that far RPM, there are a lot of great fades in this forum. . at certain times however. Its all about picking your spots. For example; MC is a great capper, but he is great fade material right now. In the future when he does turn it aorund, then he will be great to coat tail. He will be the first to admit this.

Its all about playing streaks!

I like those who post a good story with their picks. IE: My wise guy/plumber has ten dimes on Houston...Was down in Tijuana and witnessed a Colombian Cartel Member play 20 Dimes on the local soccer game...A major betting syndicate wanted to be sure I posted their top play in all the forums...Just got the call from Carmen "No Neck" Maranzani, says the fix is in...

That sort of thing. So if you have a good story with your pick, post it.

pete i think baseball is a different beast were we will see teams go on some crazy streaks.. hopefully we can ride some of these streaks

last year for example mets lost 18 out of their last 21 to end the season

houston wet on a crazy run after the all star break like 37 -wins 8 losses

i believe your statement is true with college and pro baskets

seems like it was that way in college hoops all year. i also had Clev, bought into Westbrook's last outing I guess. I'd still take him over Ledesma 10 out of 10 times.
