Coach Mora said that starting Mexico at quarterback gives the Falcons the best chance to win compared to any other QB on the roster.
"It's just something infectious about the guy that seems to rub off on everybody that he comes into contact with" said Mora. "I have spoken to him and he is itching for the season to get started". Mora said that he understands that people will question this move and can live with the fact that no matter how many times he has explained his decision that "this will continue to come up on a regular basis". "You just wish that it would go away, but we understand that it will come back time and time again." "I wish that there was something that we could do to make it go away, but we can't".
Mexico said that he hopes to have a "breakout" season and that his biggest concern is to be provided better protection this season. "If the protection is not there, you can really get burned" he said. He also said that would prevent the team from suffering a rash of injuries.
Falcons officials said that they hope that the fans will understand this move and "catch the Mexico fever" that they hope will spread throughout the Georgia Dome next season.
