I love this value. +4500 at Olympic and +4000 at Pinny to win division.
All the contenders in division have weaknesses through injuries or off-season losses. Looks like 90 or less wins will take division.
Good young pitching staff, solid power, great manager in Yost. If in contention at all in mid-summer, new owner might be willing to spend a couple bucks for help un-like previous regime.
Anybody like or not?

way too early to get on a longshot. they have a decent 1-4 in the lineup, but they only have 2 quality starters and their bullpen sucks meat. the cubs have too much of an arsenal with their lineup and their pitching, if they just get wood or prior, and if they get both they should be at the top. dont get me wrong, i hate the cubs, but the team they have is top to bottom best in this division. my suggestion is to take the money and go buy some doobage. a much better investment than laying it on a team that will crumble after the all star break.

They should be 120-1

They have a real problem cashing in on scoring ops.

Poor team but great potential.

Maybe in 2010

I dunno man, that's a tough division. StL could easily lead the league in runs again, and Mulder can't hurt em. Cubs are losers, but lots O talent. Hou lost 2 very key players and doesn't get much credit, but if eveything fell into place just right they could make some noise. I highly dount MIL wins, places, or shows in the NLC

The Crew don't have enough starting pitching to make a run at the division. I am a huge brewer's fan and watch them on a daily basis when the games are on tv and after sheets there isn't a guy in the rotation to count on for a win. Davis is at best a #4 and he is forced to be a #2. Besides the bullpen has too many unanswered questions like who is the closer. Mike Adams have been given the job since Kolb left but he is too inexperienced to count on yet.

I would absolutely love to have you bring this thread up in October and say "told you so" but the truth is that a better bet would be to take them over the win total for the season. I don't see them having the 2nd half collapse that they had last season. A much better offense in the works with Brady Clark (knows his role as a lead off hitter where Scotty Posendick wanted to be a leadoff home run hitter), Carlos Lee (helps protect overbay and jenkins), and russell brayon and jeff cirillo at 3rd base will provide much more offensive pop than wes helms did last season. Plus Junior Spivey is healthy (knock on wood) which should give us a .300/25hr/90rbi guy batting 3rd. Hopefully we get lucky with JJ hardy at short providing some type of offense and the catcher position should improve offensively with Damian Miller back there 4 out of 5 days for now (Moeller is only catching when Sheets is pitching).

We don't have a deep bench whatsoever is if anyone goes down or gets knicked up early it could be a long season.

Lay the money and laugh at us when the season is over....I'd LOVE TO SEE IT!!!!!!

BaseballGuy...I see the crew making a run in 2008. Our farm system studs should have a couple of years experience than and hopefully some of these pitchers we are drafting come through.
