Why is it so tough to string together base hits?

If a team gets only 5 or 6 in a game they score at least 2 or 3 runs minimum.....Just was wondering.

Because the chance of getting just ONE hit is less than 29%.............do the math.

The chance of 4 hitters (who hit .500 individually) getting 4 straight hits is 1 out of 16 or 6.2%

Now to be realistic, the chance of 3 hitters (who hit .333) getting 3 straight hits is 1 out of 27, or 4.5%

So if those are the odds for GOOD hitters, think f what its going to be when someone hitting .247 or .268 comes to bat.
