I have just got word mine will be increasing, and what really sucks is my Ex-wife doesn't even need the money...

Ballpark figure on one child ? I'm sure there are more than a few of us in this situation.....and to be completely honest I have been lucky to this point as I do atleast get to see my child half the week...

Recapping; I see my child 50% of the time and still have to pay child support, meaning not only do I pay for her when i have her but must foot the bill while her mother has her....LMFAO and the kicker, my ex-wife doesn't even work:icon_conf

Trust me guys without kids, THINK before risking it! Being a father is a great thing, but being one in this kind of situation, is difficult at best...I got 10 more yrs of this!

hell, then I'll be ancient anyway, so basically I am screwed.

this is one thing i did right. never having a kid with other women, i guess that is one good thing of never really sleeping around.

but J-man, i feel for you, my closest buddy has 2 by 2 different women, it adds up. just keep thinking it is for the kid, but you and i both know, maybe 25% goes to the kid.

pathetic how the guy always gets the shaft.

I have had my daughter since she was 1 yr old, every weekend, and every week 4 nights a week...And I wouldn't trade it for anything!

totally agreed J Man, wouldn't trade my kid for anything, but it's still a shame someone uses the kid to confiscate your money. They don't take into account the $$ you spend feeding, clothing and entertaining the child when it's you have him/her.

BINGO! Screw it, i will just bite the bullet and deal with it like I always have...I am a firm believer that no matter what the obstacle presented there are ways to compensate and turn a negative into a positive:103631605

As God as my witness, if the shoe were on the other foot I would not ask for a cent, its a crock of sh!t

In the end, the kids suffer. So many bumbs don't pay for their children, guys like yourself get stuck with payments that often seem too high.

need has nothing to do with it.

Let me see if I got this correct.

You want your ex-wife's new husband to fork out the dough to raise your kid?

And you want him to do this because he makes more money than you or is it because you don't like him or is it so you can have more money for yourself?

if you want to raise your kid on the cheap here are some tips

Buy defective car seats that are made in Kenya, they look just like the real thing. No need to spend $100 or more on saftey items. These car seats start at $7 with none priced higher than $19.95

Bomb shelter cookies. These cookies were made during the height of the cold war. With a little powder milk your kids will never know the difference. $5.65 per pallet.

Kids need their shots to get in school. Don't waste your cash on stupid doctor visits. www.fake-shot-records.net has everything you need to get your kids enrolled in school.

also you may find a need to check out: www.new-daddy-credit-report.net there you can check out how much money your ex's new hubby makes so you can complain about it at the bar with your other divorced buddies.

enjoy, and remember my motto: "Why should I pay for my kids when their new dad makes more than me."

I agree with ya Journey, you and most guys wouldnt ask for anything if the roles were reversed. Really sad what's becoming of our child support/custody laws anymore. Sorry to hear about your payments going up, it really is heavily weighted toward the woman in nearly every case.

gimme a break, buddyboy, that's not what J Man was saying at all. Lost in all this is the fact that many women use a kid as a crutch not to work. "get the baby, get the check".

I'm sure J Man pays plenty in support. Child support is just that "child support". not baby's momma and new boyfriend support. child support is the amount of $$$ to support the kid, not a family of 3.

that's horseshit!

My point is this...Why should I pay for what happens when my child is at the other house, she is with me 50% of the time...do you understand? 50% !

Why is it that the woman isn't required to work and pay for anything? Why does the man have to py for the 'other' 50%?

buddy boy are you an attorney, obviously you have never been in this situation, perhaps you're a female I don't know....

I'm not complaining about my half...I already pay for more than half, and i doubt very seriously about your assumption on who makes more ... who said anything about making her new husband pay for anything? Where did i mention that?

I said SHE should pay for something!

Total amount needed to raise a child:
ages 0-4: $13,891/yr
ages 5-11: $12,771/yr
ages 12-18: $8,471/yr

Total for 18 years $190,528

divide those numbers in half and that is your share. I think those #'s are in 2000 $$$ so of course it has to be adjusted upwards with inflation as time increases.

again, it does not matter if your kids new family needs doesn't need your money, you have to pay it. The electric company will not go broke if I don't pay my bill, but I can't go to court and say that I'm not paying because the electric company doesn't need my money.
