Talk about a tough act to follow, sheesh :icon_conf

McCants, May, Felton and even freshman superstar Marvin Williams (who is probably their best NBA prospect) could all be leaving for the money.

Such is the predicament facing coach Roy Williams, who has one of the top recruiting classes in the country coming to Chapel Hill next season. For now, that's all he knows for sure.

They are but nothing has been settled...Ihope it gets done, but then again someone will just sue the league and create another mess.

Marvin Williams has incredible raw talent, I would hate to see him waste it sitting on Atlanta's bench for 3 years and never fine tune his skills...it happens all the time.

I think May will return, but of the four i think he is by far the most ready....

Funny thing is Marvin Williams never even started one college game, that's how good this team was...

Illinois who:icon_conf

I think all 4 of them should return. They are not ready for the pro's just yet. This final yr would help them each greatly.

Great players leave early every year..Some make it, some dont..The cream raises..Thats life..I would rather see the ones on the bubble stay..2 reasons..One..maturity and experience..2..The college game stays great..College hoops had a great year..I would like to keep the product healthy..

I think making a bet is making an investment..Good product makes for a good investment..

Marvin is going to start for a lousy team next year, no way he rides the bench. May isn't going to be that good in the NBA, he isn't quite big enough to be great at center and doesn't strike me as having enough of an all-around game to play PF that well. A guy that might get 12 points and 7 boards a night, but far from an all-star. Felton needs the right coach, but certainly has a ton of upside. McCants will go high in the draft and then make his coach pull half his hair out in two seasons because he just doesn't play 100% all the time. Great range for his size, decent defender, but I doubt he can create a shot at that level except down low. Might pencil out to be a Quentin Richardson type, will hit the outside shots and be able to bull his way to the basket from the post, but don't expect another Kobe.

I don't know if anyone really would benefit that much from another year. Marvin probably could get better, but the bottom line is if the pros are going to take you top 5, what do you need another season for? He will get better with experience and playing 82 games plus will get you seasoned quicker than about 40 games at Carolina.

Right on In-Spades.

HEY SEAN MAY: Meet Tim Duncan. You will be toast in the NBA. Do yourself a favor & stay in school.

HEY RASHOD MCCANTS: You know, you're going to have to play defense at some point in your life. How many points did you score in the 2nd half?

And if Illinois didn't decide to play like the 1990 Loyola Marymount team & hoist up threes on every possession, they would have won the game. We can all pay tribute to Bruce Weber for this gameplan.

I disagree ...

May has no chance of being a center, and you're right he may not fit the mold at PF, but he has a nice array of shots around the hole...

Do you think Williams is going top 5? I would not expect that to happen , even though this is a very weak crop.

McCants, I could seehim flopping quickly.

Good point, but the problem is, May's nice array of shots around the hole come against smaller-sized college guys.

He might be able to eat Mike Wilkinson (who is listed about 6 inches higher than reality, BTW) for lunch, but these NBA guys will take him to the cleaners. First of all, he won't be strong enough to get such good position. Second of all, he won't be able to shoot over everybody, considering most guards in the NBA are 6'6.

May should go now though...his stock will not be any higher...I don't particularly think any are can't miss NBA players...Williams obviously has the most upside, Felton who knows, those kind of guards are very unpredictable at the next level.

Im not sure about the other guys, but May could play in the league next year and bang with the best. He will rebound and score in nba next season or whenver he is drafted.

I think May will be a solid NBA player and I think he has the size to play power forward.
