I'm no genius with computers, but it sounds like you need to go to library or bookstore, read up on it, hopefully have a friend help you some. I don't think you can expect detailed answers here. Maybe you'll get some links.

Perhaps some classes ? There's so much I don't know how to do, it's not funny.

The Nero program you have is one of the programs you will need to copy story bought DVD's. Actually, TMD is a nice place for music as well as movies that are currently playing at the theaters.Quite complicated though, not sure if I could explain here......

to burn CD's you will have no prob, if you want to burn DVD's that you buy/rent you will run into major probs without one program that i have that isn't available to be purchased anymore. Its the only thing i know of that works for burning DVD's

Not true. You can use DVD Shrink to pull the files off of a rented DVD and then use Nero to burn them to another disc. It takes a while, but it works. It's also tough to figure out and you'll probably waste a couple of DVD-R's trying to get it to work. Just search for DVD Shrink and download the free version of it.

I think the program Brock Landers is talking about is DVD X Copy, I have it as well. You can probably find copies of it somewhere - maybe order it online from a foreign source since it is now illegal in the US. It is much faster and easier than the other method I described, the only drawback is it doesn't allow you to burn the menu and the additional features, only the film itself with no menu.

A good program for downloading movies is DC++ available at
http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/

The only problem is that some of the movies are of poor quality because they are highly compressed, and you will only be able to watch them on your computer. I happen to have an S-Cable and an Audio cable running from my computer to my TV, which allows me to play video on my computer and watch it on the television. This is especially useful since I bought the MLB.tv subscription this week.

If you're not good with computers and/or the internet you BETTER BE CAREFUL trying to get free music. Most of the sites that advertise 'free' music or videos are crammed with pop-up ads and worse. If you install something like Kazaa to try to file share, you will most likely infect your PC with spyware, which will screw your PC up worse than some viruses. Some band's websites or their fan's web pages have mp3 files that you can download, that is a lot better idea then file sharing. People also like to purposely mislabel files on file sharing sites to trick you into downloading viruses, ads or other crap.

If you want to burn CDs, try doing it with CDs your already own or borrow one from your friends or the library or something. The basic idea is you copy the music files you want off the CD onto your PC's hard drive. (This will make it faster to burn to a new CD.) Then whatever recording program you just select the files you want and it should convert the file to the right format for you when it is burning the CD. Think about where you want to play the CD also, most players now days can play mp3 format so you don't really need to worry about converting files back and forth like you used to. Plus you can fit a lot more mp3 files on a CD then to convert them to traditional audio files.

The newest version of DVD Shrink is not that hard when used with DVD Decrypter. Involves less than 10 clicks. Get a Netflix account and you will be set. Netflix is the best IMO. You can send them back the same day after you copy them. Not that i've done this...just heard about it.
Also, if you have a scanner, scan the actual disc so you can transfer it to a label.
