Honestly, I never thought I would be saying HOF and Adnrew Jones in the same sentence, but I really believe he is a LOCK for the Hall! I don't like the guy. He strikes out way too much...but.....

He is one of the best defensive CF's ever!

He has won 7 straight gold gloves. He will finish with at least 10.

He is still just 27 years old.

He has 251 career Homeruns. He needs just 25 a year for the next 10 years to reach 500. He will be 37 then....If he stays healthy he can play 10 more years. Would it surprise you if he gets to 500?

He has 769 career RBI. If he plays 10 more years and just gets 85 RBI's per year, he will finish with over 1600 RBI's

How many Centerfielders have hit 500 HR's??

How many Centerfielders have knocked in 1600 RBI's??

How many Centerfielders have won 10 gold gloves??

How many Centerfielders have hit 500 HR, knocked in 1600 RBI's and have captured 10 gold gloves???

I know he hasnt done it yet and he can get injured at any time, but he has played in an amazing 150 games for 8 straight seasons now.

And remember he is still just 27 years old!

So can anyone tell me why you dont think he will make the Hall of Fame?

I hate him....so I would love to hear why.

They had alot of great Center Fielders, but I think Willie Mays was the best I ever seen play, he started the basket catches. he could do everything.

I hate the guy too. I think he is hitting about .091 when I bet on the Braves.

He may make the hall of fame for banging strippers in front of the owner of the Gold Club (or whatever tha place was).

Yea and before I found out he was on his way to 500 HR and 1600 RBI I would have never classified him as a HOF'er.

Why even acknowledge the HOF if Pete Rose is not in?

The HOF means nothing at this current time.

as a lifelong braves fan and follower, i can comment on andruw jones about as well as anyone here..

Here is his story, Great and i mean great defensive center fielder, comes to work everyday, not a problem guy.. Great guy to be on the team.. In a nutshell, here is his problem, he needs to bat 7th in the order, he needs no pressure to produce at the plate.. if you hit him 7th, he will produce more, because less is expected..

HOF, is palmerio? sort of same kind of player, at least stats wise - in the long run..

First ballot. He will hit over 600 HRs, and win 10 GGs.

Andruw is great on defense, no questions about it,, Bobby Cox is on record saying andruw is the best defensive outfielder of all time (bar none)...

He is not a clutch hitter, his stats will be there (maybe), because he never and i mean never misses a game.. Im a huge fan of his, i just prefer him to hit 7th and not 4th..

MC, i was referring -- in the palemrio reference, to his numbers maybe sneaking up on people, most have no idea how good palmerio's numbers are..

I don't think you can say he's a HOF'er at this time...Iknow he's as good an outfielder as there is, he just lacks overall greatness...He seems to be a choker at the plate when it counts....off the top I would say NO

In todays age I do not see a guy who hit .268 and has a on base percentage of .342 ever making it into the hall. He needs to raise those if he has any chance.

No way does Andruw Jones make the HOF.

In this day and age 500 hr's will not guarantee it either.

As I said obviously a big injury will kill him....but all he has to do to reach 500 HR is hit 25 HR for the next 10 years. Age-wise he hasnt hit his prime yet....Baseball primes are usually considered to be from 28-32. No one is asking him to hit 40 or 35 HR per year like many players before him had to hit for 8 years to get to the 500 mark. In 10 years from today he will be 37. From 98-2004 he has averaged over 32 HR's. Asking for 25 a year for the next 10 years isnt asking for a crazy thing. If he gets to 500 and gets 10 gold gloves playing what is considered a very defensive position.....he will be a LOCK for the HOF.
