SF +135 Reuter/Weaver
Play on the pitcher who took the loss in their last matchup.
Pitcher revenge is another theory I use as a tool. Okay, so I'm a tool. :howdy:
These two met on 4/6 with Weaver winning the duel by tossing a 5 hit shutout over 8 innings. Reuter did not pitch badly, 3 hits, 2 runs in 5 innings, but was saddled with the loss. That's gotta sting, especially with this rivalry.
"San Francisco will come back with a vengeance," Dodgers center fielder Milton Bradley said. "The second time against Weaver, after eight scoreless innings, they won't want that to happen again. Every time the teams play, it's a battle."
I usually only use this when both pitchers figure in the decision. At least the losing pitcher should take the loss. I will look at it when it is just a team win or loss when the pitcher get no decision, but it is probably not as strong a factor. I'd like to hear opinions on that. Anyone ever track this?
