Anyone else having trouble in the last hour that use Comcast high speed? I can't get Betcris, BetGrande or even Yahoo to come up. This happened one day last week as well. This site, TheGreek and Cascade come up no problem for me.

Yes Aquatic. I have comcast out of Maryland and it is working worth a #%$%. I have called the 1-800 number several times and got the busy signal.

Having problems as well. Second time in a few days. Happened late last week as well. First time ever for me. Usually just need to shutdown all connected computers, unplug the cable modem and router for a few minutes, then reconnect and normally up and running. Didn't work these two times. Problem appears to be with Comcast and not at the user's end.

Thanks for all the quick responses so I know it's not my equipment.

Yeah, they're having DNS problems, but not nearly as bad as it was late last week. Give it one or two minutes & it's usually resolved (at least here).

Also having the same problems. I unplugged the router and turned off the modem when it happened last week and it seemed to work, but this time it did not. I also have comcast and have never had problems in the past.

Comcast Techie told me last week it was beyond any of my control. It was on their end.

Comcast had 3 switching facilities flooded out late last week. At one point, their entire network from NY to Maryland was running out of the back of a truck. At the time, PECO power would not let them in to check on their equipment. I would assume that they are now repairing the damage & it's causing some problems again.

Nothing you do on your end will expedite it....just hit F5 every minute or two, and the site should eventually come up.

Problems here too, very slow if it works at all, in addition to other problems with accessing secure sites.

I had problems here in Michigan last night, as well as Thursday of last week. Both times I called Comcast and got a recording saying they had service outages.

What am I paying for???

Problems started last Friday with DNS servers across the U.S.
It is also affecting other providers...

You will want to try one of the following DNS entries instead of the default "automatic"

4.2.2.1
4.2.2.2
4.2.2.3
4.2.2.4
4.2.2.5
4.2.2.6

To change DNS servers:

Right click on the My Network Places icon on the desktop and select Properties. (If the icon is not available, go to Start menu | My Computer | My Network Places | View Network Connections.)

Locate the network connection that is associated with your Internet connection. This may be labeled something like "Local Area Connection." If you have more than one connection to choose from, be sure you determine the right one before proceeding.

Right click on the appropriate connection and select Properties.

In the list that appears under the General tab, double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

In the window that appears, you want to select the option to Use the following DNS server addresses...

At this point you will want to enter at least one of your personal preferred DNS servers. There are a number of public servers suggested by members of the Comcast forum; simply do a search for 'DNS' and you should get adequate results. You can also check out this list compiled by jdmatl .

Press Ok out of all windows until you are back to the Network Connections window. You can now open your web browser and browse to a website to see if it connects faster.
