Well they have finally done it, one of their greatest supporters has been basically given the boot. I tried to do two payments to my pinnacle account today, sent the money as instructed to the Philippines and i get a call from WU telling me they were refused and to go get a refund. Seems i need to send a fax with info or reasons why i am sending these funds to the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Philippines</st1:place></st1:country-region>. They have noted that I have sent MANY transactions there. Now i am sure i will fax them some reason such that these people are contractors for me and i own a software development firm. While this isn't true i have a friend who does this exact thing, only he pays people in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">India</st1:place></st1:country-region>...<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

Anyway, i am through with these guys which is amazing because i have used them since 1995!! They have made THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS off me in fees, most all of which have been covered by books anyway, but the bottom line is a customer like me should be pampered, not hassled! Neteller ont he other hand considers me a VIP, grants me a LARGE Instacash limit of 5 dimes a week and basically proves they are the best in the business hands down....<o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

So lets basically say goodbye to <st1:place w:st="on">Western Union</st1:place> as a group here, they need to suffer for this crap and embrace Neteller as our only form of patronage!

<o:p></o:p>
Here's to you WU! :finger:

Pinnacle needs my info I thought, when you go to their site for the sender info you are in their system so how can i send as someone else? Also they ask for ID at the WU counter, and if i want to send 5 dimes, i am going to fill out 5 forms to 5 different people? LOL No longer needed or practical

It is somewhat impractical if you're looking to send larger amounts, just a suggestion , I know you can send 999 without ID, you could spread it around...

Still either way thats pathetic!

Its a real shame...basically because I want my cash there NOW, and there are few alternatives to that.

BOYCOTT THEM FOR GOOD! They will lose 1/3 of their business for sure.

I have been asked for an ID when sending as little as $100.

Brock:

I haven't used Western Union in years because any amount over $999 requires too much personal information. That being said, you may not be aware that the Phillipines has been designated as an "at risk country" by the government as well as financial institutions due in part to the terrorism and suspected links to the Al Queda network. This may be contributing to part of the problem you are encountering. I have personal knowledge of this as I have cause to send funds to the Phillipines every month and my financial institution is required by law to inform me of the "at risk country" designation each and every time.

Do you think if it was sent to a different country they would have still blocked you?

Sounds like phillipines problem...I have also sent several payments to Phillipines...no problem yet though...I usually send no more than two dimes though....and alot of times just a dime

It seemed like a combination of me having sent a lot of cash in the past years, not sure how far back they are going, and the place i was sending to. If i want to use WU and Pinnacle i have little choice of where its being sent.

Maybe they should find another destination if this is going to crop up now....I wonder if you contacted Pinny and asked for a different location, just a thought...

Well then i am back to the discussion of using a fake name, which I still can't see using with Pinnacle...

Its a lost cause at this point, WU is in the rear view mirror!

This sucks because I use Western Union as well and send to the same place. The problems is Neteller is not an option for me as I live in Maryland.

Well sounds like Fed ex or bank wire's may be your best route now...
