Winner of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, Detroit or Miami?

I personally like Detroit to repeat, I think they are a lot deeper. Will Shaq put the Heat the top?

I think Miami will be -160 favorite over Detroit if they meet.

Motown is not deeper, they are close to benchless. Their game winning margin is way down from last year, another sign of no bench. They may win a series or two, but that lack of depth and having already won one is a bad combination. No repeat here. They practically had a second starting 5 last year. No such luxury this year. I had them from jump last year to win the Eastern Conference vs. Indiana.

Remember folks, Jermaine Oneal will be back for the playoffs, If you know your hoops you know that Indiana with Oneal is capable of winning the east outright, they match up well with Miami and Detroit. Remember Detroit beat them in 7 last year, I have never seen so much value in a bet as I do on betting INDIANA to win the east, all they have to do is win the first round and you can easily middle out after that. It is a damn good bet.

Miami will win the east. The Pistons could barely beat Miami last sunday with Shaq out. Of course MIA will go to the finals.

If Indy had Artest they would have blown the doors off everyone, that team was hands down the best in the NBA prior to the incident. Sorry to sound like a broken record. but a top 10 player is a top 10 player

Maybe the lack of Artest's attitude will help Indy. I am not forecasting it, but just discussing the home team.

If Miami does indeed matchup with Detroit in the Eastern Finals my money will be on Miami. Many people that dont really know the Heat think that they are only a 2 man team, with D Wade and Shaq. They could not be further from the truth. Miami is the deepest team in the league in my opinion. Udonis Haslem has been everything that the Heat has hoped for and more. He is very solid defensively and can hit the open jump shot. Udonis is also very active on the offensive boards and gives all out 100% effort every single night. Eddie Jones has finally been playing the role that the Heat has invisioned from him, averaging about 15 points per game while giving a great defensive effort each night. Damon Jones has been the hottest 3 point shooter in the league since the all star break and has been consistent all season long. He rarely turns the ball over and is very clutch, hitting game winning jump shots multiple times this year. Off the bench, Keyon Dooling has been playing as good as any backup point guard in the league. He is as quick as any guard in the league and attacks the hoop very well. His jumpshot has improved tremendously and he is one of the best defensive point guards in the league. Zo has come in and given the Heat rebounding and a great defensive presence off the bench, averaging 1.5 blocks per game in under 12 minutes of playing time. Shandon Anderson has been the first man off the bench and has played his role perfectly. He is considered more of a defensive stopper, with the Heat putting Anderson on the other teams best offensive weapon. However, he also is a good rebounder for his position and his cuts to the hoop often result in easy layups. Laettner has played very well when healthy, as he can hit the open jump shot and although he is not very quick, he is very smart defensively. Doleac has been a solid option off the bench, providing good minutes at the backup center spot, rebounding and hitting the open jump shot off of pick and rolls. The Heat also has some nice 3 point shooting off the bench with both Rasual Butler and Steve Smith. The Heat's homecourt will be the difference in this one if it happens, as their homecourt has been huge all year. They have only lost 6 times all year, with the majority of those losses coming earlier in the season. They put together a 16 game home winning streak last season and followed that up by an 18 game home winning streak this season. The only thing that concerns me is the pick and roll game of the Pistons. Billups can be hard to guard at times and if the Heat has a weakness, it is their perimter defense. Many people are reading in to the Heat's recent sturggles and saying that they are not hitting on all cylinders heading into the playoffs. That is incorrect. They have been hit hard by injuries, with Shaq, Wade, Eddie Jones, Udonis Haslem, and Laettner all missing games recently. However, when the Heat has had their whole starting 5 healthy and playing, THEY HAVE WON 20 GAMES IN A ROW! With all this being said, the Heat will win this series in 6 or 7 games.
