This thread is mainly for the novice gambler who isnt entirely familiar with offshore sports books....

I honestly believe that many novice gamblers just dont know the policies and house rules of the book they send their money to...now you can say well thats tuff shouldve known better...

but as Shrinky pooh likes to say Therx is here to help....

not all sportsbooks have the same rules when it comes to sports betting, so know that particular book's rules your betting with inside and out...

not all sportsbooks have the same policies when it comes to funding accounts and requesting payment..

ditto with rollovers and bonuses...

imo.....most legit gripes about books (not including scam shops) are about the above situations.....and usually its a misunderstanding.. by either book or player..

now....if you as a poster honestly believe you have been done wrong by a book......dont be afraid to post the situation...

DO'S

1. provide a detailed account of what happened.
2. dont use harsh or abusive language
3. stick with the facts of the situation...(too many times a poster brings up how another bookdoes business and the thread gets away from the original complaint)

4. be patient........(you are not the only customer)

DONT'S

1. post that a book ripped me off.............details to follow
2. i am still waiting to be paid.........it been almost 20 goddam minutes and still no money..
3. post bogus details...

this list can go on forever.....but you get the idea....

also....fellow posters.........you are doing nothing benificial by telling a poster he is a ******* for betting with so and so book........"you deserved to be stiffed" ..........alot of gamblers arent aware of why you shouldnt play with a book that hasnt been in business but only a couple of months and offers 50% bonuses.........i being serious.........

any other suggestions???

Good Post Dimes....

May I also add, that if you are serious, and wanting help, then provide details, and info, like an adult...

If you are still waiting for a tracking number after 5 days, and were told you would get it in 3 days, and are worried, post something like

Delay in tracking number, help needed..........(title)

then include the details and email a moderator with your info for help..

What we too often see, is this same scenario, and a thread titled....

CoKK-Sucking Scums at BozoSports stole my money, kicked my dog, screwed my wife, slapped my kids, and cxl'd my wager....

That is not the way to get help, or info from other posters because you look like you are "overselling" your problem......and dont say you were cursed at, if you werent, or yelled at, if you werent....Its called "overselling" and its not needed....

If you have been wronged, they could have been as polite as can be, you still have the same good case.....The yelling/cussing stuff doesnt make a bogus claim any more legite......If it really happened, thats one thing, but dont use it to "disguise" a "flimsy" claim...

the best thing you can do to start with is just post that you are in a dispute with a book, and that you would like assistance from therx.

its probably better to give the book the opportunity to work it out BEFORE they get slammed on the forums...

Try to resolve the problem with the book before complaining publically. Give the bookie ample time to resolve the dispute.

Contact a monitor here BEFORE posting publically.

Try to avoid the "pile on" mentality often excersized in these forums.

No matter how you slice it or dice it, sending a large sum of money to a bookie in a Third World Country is in itself a **gamble**. Don't whine and cry when you lose big on that favorite. Books are a dime a dozen and a lot of "un-savory" types are in charge.

Here's my additional suggestion based on my observations:

If you're relatively new to posting, you need to run up at least a hundred posts before stating your business. My suggestion would be just slap a bunch of useless single emoticon posts in every thread you see for awhile. Then present your complaint.

Some people will fixate on a low number of posts no matter how coherently you state your case. I'll see some perfectly reasonable threads get started and I'll just know guys are going to come along and cause things to get side-tracked on this unnecessary, irrelevant tangent. It's as predictable as the behavior of a trained monkey.

I'm sort of being a wise-ass here and I'm sort of not.
