I would like to know the % of ordinary people who get audited and make honest mistakes....As long as you fess up that its an error and pay them their dues, I doubt they bother with low commoners...

In both instances I was sent a notice and a bill for tax, penalty and interest. I paid the bill and have been left alone, except that they continue to check for filing errors.
The least they could do is go after the big fish first.....the corporations that create all these tax shelters and washouts that protect billions of dollars from being paid in......
What's next, a hospital where a guy comes in on a stretcher with a gunshot wound near the heart and the doctors team up to worry about one of his bleeding fingernails?
