Looper is solid. He'll bounce back.

Solid win by Loop.

Mota is garbage.

He's top ten. Off the top of my head these guys are not even half the pitcher that Loop is ..

Kim, Takatsu, Percival, Affeldt, Mesa, Mota, Dotel, Ryan, Wickman

Looper is far from a quality closer. Set-up maybe, but to have him as a closer can't exactly make you feel confident.

That would be either Latroy Hawkins OR Joe Borowski...take your pick for the worst closer!

I will take both of them over Looper.

Percival is way better than Looper, not even close. Mota is a better pitcher hands down but not a proven closer. Kim isn't a closer anymore. Takatsu has WAY better stuff. Dotel racks up far more k's and although not remarkably consistent he is better at his role. You got Ryan, Affeldt and Wickman right though. They suck just as much as Looper.

I could have swore he was 21-23 Lifetime with a 3.56 ERA.
I was noting his previous year and also since he is a closer and closer get paid to get saves, I would think that saves would be more relevant than W/L.

You're wrong, but that's ok because otherwise 2 sides wouldn't exist ;)

Gotcha, I thought you were talking about W/L.

Looper is just no closer and never will be. I think setup without a doubt is his role.

I am not a Met fan, in fact the only way I could hate the Mets more than I already do would be if they traded for Bonds, but I think Looper is in the top half of all closers in baseball. Everything just gets blown out of proportion by the NY media and all the NY fans think everyone should be like Rivera. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree here. I find it amazing that NY fans want to trade for someone like Baez, who would be no better than Looper.
