Is it possible to place two identical bets in one second at WSEX?

According to WSEX the answer is YES.

I placed a bet and after a delay of 60 seconds the bet was rejected: wrong money line.
Unfortunately I did not check my balance or my reports that day.
The next day the reports showed TWO identical bets. One was accepted (and lost) and the other was rejected.
I contacted WSEX. They sent my activity log, which confirmed that I did not check my balance or my reports. It also showed, that the two bets were placed in only one second!
I have since tried to click twice on the Place Wager button. Only one bet is actually placed.
I have also tried to wait for the first bet to be accepted and then placed an identical bet. The second bet is rejected: Duplicated Wager is not allowed in 15 minutes.

Bottom line is that WSEX claims that the activity log proofs that I placed both bets.
I KNOW that I did not.

It doesn't sound to me that WSEX is saying you placed two wagers one second apart, they are saying you tried to place two wagers and only one was accepted.

It sounds to me like what you have described happening in subsequent tests may have been what happened in the original instance. In the original instance if you clicked place wager twice the first bet would have been accepted and the second bet would be rejected. Hence you did not actually place two bets within a second, you placed one bet and the other was rejected. This is exactly the same thing that you have confirmed happening in your later tests.

If you clicked the Place Wager button twice isn't it possible that you only saw the conformation screen for the second (rejected) bet? Just because you didn't see the confirmation screen for the first bet doesn't mean the bet wasn't accepted.

FWIW, Myself and SHRINK have been involved in this situation and stand behind Wsex. The player double clicked and got a rejection notice on the second wager. (Both for $2750). His 1st bet was accepted and the second rejected. Had he checked and reviewed his account he would have seen his 1st bet was accepted and the second was rejected.

If you click twice on the wager button one and only one bet is recorded in the reports.

I sure wish I had checked my account, but for this question it's totally irrelevant.

I am not taking sides here because I don't know the details ... BUT ...

The thing about WSEX that can cause problems is that you don't enter into a confirmation screen and enter a password and I never understood this.

I know you need to speed up interactives, but for straight wagers maybe they should put that extra screen in - if nothing else, it would delay wagers and reduce the risk of getting double/triple hit by steam as well.

I had this happen to me once at WSEX, only I didn't complain because the wager was a winner. Noticed it AFTER the game. Was a lesson learned, albeit a profitable one. I now check my pending wagers at WSEX after every wager placed, accepted or rejected, to be sure. Their software isn't the best IMHO amd it doesn't surprise me that this happens.

tage,

You asked that I arbitrate so here is my finding...

WSEX does not have to pay you if they want to follow the letter of the law because you indeed placed a bet and you were given notification that your bet had been approved...

The fact that you didn't SEE this is NOT WSEX'S FAULT...

Had you checked your pending wagers, you'd have surely seen the bet there...

I do empathize with your unfortunate situation because you THOUGHT the ORIGINAL bet and NOT your SECOND bet had been DENIED...

Partly because of this, WSEX has refunded you HALF of your ORIGINAL wager, exactly $1375.00...

Furthermore, after Steve, General, and I chatted, Steve felt that since you were a good customer, this was a very FAIR solution..

I also concur that this was fair for WSEX to do and I know many REPUTABLE sports books who would not have paid out a penny in this situation..

Consider yourself fortunate to have a sports book who cares...

I have been having problems with duplicate bets at WSEX for months. I have sent them emails about it but the problem persists.

Because it has happened dozens of times I know to check my account for this annoying fault in their bet approval system.

Wsex has a fault in their system which they should have fixed.

They should refund all of the money if it can be proven the customer never checked his pending bets.

Bottom line WSEX this was caused by a fault in your system which you have been told about so you should not profit form your negligence.

General,

You said tage222 double clicked. I am quite sure he only clicked once because this has happened to me numerous times and I have only clicked once. Twice my WSEX balance has gone into a negative figures after duplicate bets.

Shrink,

You said tage222 got notification the bet was accepted but what the wager approval screen showed was that it was rejected. Do you check your account at pinnacle every bet when the line moves when you are entering your password to confirm. I know I have never had to check my Pinnacle bets but I have to check every WSEX bet.

I respect your opinion kiwi. As for confirming bets. I confirm every wager I make & copy it to a word doc, because I learned the hard way myself at a top 5 book. Very similar to what Tage experienced.

THE SHRINK

Thank you for taking the time to look into my case, SHRINK.

But is it not true, that your reasoning is based on the assumption that I placed TWO bets?

Imagine that it is a certainty that I only placed one bet myself.

Then the other bet must have been placed automatically by the system or manually by a person at WSEX (remember there was a delay of 60 seconds).

In that (hypothetical?) situation would your ruling be the same?

Of course it's almost impossible for me to 'prove' that I did not place both bets.
But WSEX 'proof' is ridiculous. They claim that I have placed two bets within a second!

A couple of days after the incident I have described I experienced the exact same thing once more: My bet was rejected online but placed as unsettled in the report.

This time I took a screenshot and I sent the screenshot to THE GENERAL so he and THE SHRINK had more evidence to make their decision on.

I can only conclude that they believe that I not once but twice has made the same mistake.

Could it be, that the system is at fault?

tage222,

3 people in this thread have had the same problem. Blind Freddy can see that the system is at fault but for some unknown reason WSEX refuse to fix it.

Here is a copy of their system duplicating my bets which put my account balance to over MINUS $400.
