i was at a cornell university golf outing 2 summers ago. it was a fund raiser for the football team and he was there to speak. his father had done it for years as he was a graduate from there .

i did meet dick schapp - once
at the 1992 albertville france olympics i worked for cbs at the broadcast center. i was literally around the corner from the set.
for some reason - dick schaap taped an episode of "The Sports Reporters" on the set in albertville and since i worked the Midnite-9A shift i saw him. he actually was looking for some info - and since i had nothing to do - and was only a few months removed from working for ESPN i got it for him.
Dick Schapp is/was one of the all-time nicest guys ever
