will steinbrenner ever say screw it and try and win with an average salary ballclub ?

lets say in 2 or 3 years he lets some of these big contracts run out. he keeps a couple of big names and fields a team with a salary of about 80 million..

try and rebuild from within and spend what other teams do..

bank the extra coin instead of give it away to washed up pitchers..

he has paid out over 150 million a year for the last 4 years and hasnt won ..

i think a team can win with a payroll of about 85 million..

i dont know what the marlins or twins payroll is but i'm rooting for either of them to win it all...
