So I request a neteller withdrawal through their website. This is my first withdrawal since I opened up with them last month. Several hours later, the money is in my Neteller account, but a $15 fee was deducted from my balance.

I inquired about it, seeing that I am supposed to get one free payout every 30 days, and this is their response.

"We would like to inform you that, yes you are entitled to one FREE payout every 30 days from the day you sign-up and make your initial deposit but, we don't make the assumption that you want your FREE payout. When requesting a FREE payout you must call us at 1-800-220-0002 and request it with a customer service agent."

I guess shame on me for not knowing this "policy", but this seems pretty odd. Why would they not assume that I want to use my free payout. If the fee were a percentage of the $ amount, this would make sense to me, but I don't believe this to be the case.

Anyone else burned by this? I plan on calling them this evening about this as well.

If you call them, I am 98% sure they will credit your account back the $15 if you tell them that you would like to use that as your FREE withdrawl.

Call them and report back..........thanks

i guess i would have assumed that your first payout every 30 days would automatically be free..

any others during the 30 day time frame would be charged a fee.

would have caught me by surprise as well..

It is there policy. When it happened to me however, I did not come to the RX and post about it, I simply dropped BJ a email and he took care of everything. I told him now that I know the policy, I will make sure to not let it happen again. I would try emailing BJ.

Again, 98% certain a simple phone call even AFTER you have been charged the $15, will be credited back.

Yes, I figured I would be credited back, and intend to call at the end of the day. Doesn't seem like it will be a big deal.

Mostly wanted to note the absurdity of it, and alert others of this.

They don't "assume" that you want the free payout (One per month)?

You get ONE free Neteller withdrawl every 30 days up to $5,000!

Not hard to understand.

If they charged you $15, CALL THEM AND DISCUSS!

Geez Louise!!!!!!!

It's not like I didn't try to get it handled on my own first. Their e-mail response was what I posted. I'll report back after I call.

I think it is absurd that anyone would take offense to it. It is clearly in their rules page and even when someone is an idiot such as myself and does not follow the proper guidelines, they still go back and refund it.

Hollywood International will cover the first $30 of the service charge for payouts on one transaction every 30 days after the first 30 days of opening an account. Customers eligible for this discount must make a request to customer service before taking a withdrawl. For more frequent payouts, customers assume service charge

Sorry, I did not even notice the quote marks. I would still try either emailing BJ directly or calling and speaking to someone.

All this being said, HOLLYWOOD, should look at ammending this POLICY....

the 'FIRST' withdrawal of every CALENDER month should be FREE... (Like Pinny)

Dont make us call in to ASK for a FREE withdrawal....

******** Although I do understand why they do this, 50% of customers will never call in & accept the FEE. Kind o like where I work, we sell cellular phones with a 'MAIL IN REBATE' 55% of customers never bother to mail in the 100$ rebate, so it is FREE money for the COMPANY ********

I have got two freebies. I requested via live chat and they said okay do it. Still got dinged but called up and they gave it back. Next time I did it same way on the request and asked that it be done right away this time if possible. They mentioned to put "free" in the note section on the request. I think this would help avoid situations if everyone does that.

I don't think it's a big deal, and Hollywood seems like a fine book, but that is kind of funny. Assuming that the customer would want to pay for it instead of getting it free is a little bit funny. Just do what Pinnacle does....if you haven't had a free one yet, this one is free. Kind of like baseball teams refunding playoff tickets for games that never took place by making you send the tickets back in and filling out a form requesting a refund. I guess they aren't sure that you want the refund until you tell them you do.

Steeser,

I took care of it and credited the $15 fees to your account.

We cannot decide when to charge and when not to charge a customer for a payout so we ask that it's requested. It only takes a minute to notify customer service via live chat or over the phone. If you are charged for a payout and wish to use your free one, let us know and we'll make sure the fees are corrected.

Thanks,

-BJ
