I have an Uncle who is a Catholic Priest down in Va. He seems to have a pretty nice life, he plays the commodity market, and he was also a weatherman for Dulles Airport...

Is the Pope allowed to have an offshore poker or sports betting account?

General , I am no expert myself but think about him as the "President" of the Catholics, he is actually the president of the Vatican, he can dictate policies and appoint Cardinals

Just like any president he can dictate "laws" about what the interpretation of certain parts of the doctrine can be

I don't think he particularly cares about a wage.....hell at 78 years old I would probably tell everyone to leave me the @#$@#$ alone and let me rest

Thanks Wolfie. Makes some sense. Just seems strange to elect a guy at such an age who would assume much responsibilty. I am glad for him though. I am sure he worked very hard to get this title.

Its a shame what a small percentage of Catholic Priests have done to the religion.

I agree with what you say, to me I see it like this

To try to guide say a billion people you need a LOT of experience particularly in these enlightened days where SUPOSELY people think by themselves, its not like 500 years ago where they fed all these ideas into your mind and if you don't like them.........well....get ready for the punishment

Most popes don't live as long as the last one......

POLITICALLY speaking (At that to me is whats at stake in this) it would have made a lot more sense to elect an Indian/Chinese pope, they are A BUNCH and they are starting to dominate the world.........our generation is starting to feel the effects of this right this very minute

The first thing this dude needs to do is make sure priests can't get their hands on Viagra and rape little kids.

I could care less about the church or any other religion - but those priests need to keep their weenies inside their robes - especially here in Boston with Shanley and the like.

You know I threw my hat in the ring on this one. Pope FROG. I gathered no votes. But if I were Pope FROG, changes would be made. First, the robes have to go. Looks too much like a togo to me, I can't envision myself at a togo party, drunk and disorderly, so I am modernizing to a pope jersey. I will keep it traditional white, Cardinal Red #1. Team name, Catholics. And of course Pope FROG on player name. Next, the head gear. That squid cap looking hat has to go. I think a baseball hat to match my pope jersey. White cap, with cursive "Catholics" across the front. And on this I will have a crucifix logo. Same colors, white and Red.next, when I visit countries, I want to tour on top of a tank. A Catholic Abrams. It does not have to be armed, but if some assassin wanted to take a shot, he will have some good old fashion, revenge is mine return fire. Next Pedophiles. Pope FROG has a zero tolerance policy for child molesters. It is a one and done situation. You molest a kid, defrocked and banished from the church. No relocations, no forgiveness. You violate one of God's children, see you later. Women, I think if we had a Jesus had Mary, what is good for Jesus is good for us policy. Probably cutdown on the molesters, and all of us high ranking dudes will get a church discount for Baptisms, Weddings etc. Not ready for the same sex unions yet. Will draw the line there. Contraception. Yes, finally. No more getting the local Catholic slut pregnant and having to marry here. Rubbers are not only allowed, I will have especially blessed condoms, in a white foil package with a big red cross. Marketing. We have a serious aloof problem. We are losing the younger generation. Along the Star Wars merchandising, going with Pope action figures. Also Pope jerseys and hats will be offered, on our I wanna be like the Pope website. For large donations I Pope FROG will autograph them, and they will be authenticated. I need the new Pope's E mail addy. I can run some of these modernizing ideas by him. What is he 98? He could use it.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:
