Guys I have Severe back Pain, and I didn't want a Naracotic, but something close & something better than CeleBrex...so I was on Tramadol for Over a year & a Half & my Doctor finally cut me off and will not prescribe anymore.
He said I was addicted!
See, i got my legs cut out from under me while dunking a Basketball years ago & ruptured my L-5 Disk in my Lower Back. Now I'm having Problems w/ my legs going Numb. That's from a disc pressing on The Ciatic Nerve.
Tramadol was the only thing that helped me get through the day!
It's a Great Drug!
I actually have been thing about ordering some ON-LINE, but they are like $149 for 90 and I was getting 120 for $10 with my insurance!

Mr. NW-

I have similar back problems with a herniated L4 and L5 and a spondylolisthesis between the two. Years of football and going into the hockey boards head first a couple of times were mainly the cause.

It would be my advice to stop taking medications altogether. This may suck for a month or two, but in the longterm your back will be better for it. Work on building some strength in your lower back. It took me a while but now I am back to playing hockey 2-3 times per week and doing mixed martial arts training.

One other word of caution, stay away from chriopractors. They specialize in manipulating the spine, but my back never felt worse than after visiting one. They kept messing with my lower back and in hindisght if something hurts you probably don't want to aggrevate it, which is all they were doing with their "treatments".
